THE ROLE

As the Head of Retail Sales, you will be responsible for the growth of Ancient + Brave’s Retail and Wholesale partnerships in the UK and Internationally. You will be tasked with overseeing account management practices for existing accounts and driving growth through business development.

With a passion for scaling businesses in new territories you will shape the retail strategy whilst building long term supplier partnerships. A natural brand and product advocate, you will be the face of Ancient + Brave in retail. With an eye always on the numbers you will be comfortable defining strategic forecasts, being responsible for tracking performance against budget and ensuring delivery against targets.

Reporting to (and supported by) our Commercial Director you will be an integral part in the team, working collaboratively and cross-functionally at all levels and with all departments (Brand, Design, ECommerce, Partnerships, Nutrition and Innovation etc) as well as external agencies and partners.

YOU WILL

  • Be responsible for the growth of Ancient
  • Brave’s retail and wholesale sales, UK, EU and ROW, manage our sales pipeline and new business opportunities
  • Effectively manage existing retail partnerships to drive sales through additional sell through, sell in and maintaining the life of the partnership
  • Support our retail partners with sales support materials, training and product launch education
  • Establish and maintain an effectively existing retailer CRM strategy
  • Provide insight and market specific reports to identify new territory opportunities and assess launch options into a new market
  • Consider routes to market and distribution strategies (distributors, agents, direct) for growth and feed into the definition of the retail forecast and budget by territory and customer type
  • Negotiate effectively, making sure our agreements are supported with the correct commercial positioning and terms and conditions
  • Provide solutions (as well as acquiring expert advice where necessary) to cross-border, ingredients, compliance challenges to ensure seamless launch into each territory
  • Provide regular financial and trading tracking updates to assess performance against budget and understand sales trajectory
  • Manage an existing team of two and help support the business in designing a team structure to support scale
  • Collaborate with the wider team including Marketing, Innovation and Nutrition, Partnerships and Events to ensure a company-wide cohesive approach to sales

Who You Are

To be successful in this role, you'll need to demonstrate the following skills / knowledge / experience:

  • Experience successfully growing scale up brands in international markets
  • Experience in the beauty and wellness industry with relevant existing contacts and routes to market
  • Strong understanding of best practice account management and sales pipeline ways of working
  • Ability to define growth plans and forecasts and provide insightful performance tracking against budget
  • Ability to lead, inspire and develop a sales and account management team
  • Skilled in building and maintaining strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders.

We’ve worked hard to make our office (a beautiful old mill situated in East Sussex) an inviting and friendly environment for all of our team members and we expect any new joiner to be in the office full time.
