G Touring is the touring division of Bruce Poon Tip’s group of companies, which also include G Adventures and Tru Travels. Our mission is change lives through travel and we do that through our Cares programmes that runs alongside our not-for-profit partner, the Planeterra Foundation to ensure that the communities we visit benefit from tourism.

Head of Digital

Location: This role is based in our office in Market Harborough.

Working Hours: Full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week 09:00 am-17:15 pm Monday to Friday with 45 minute lunch break.

Purpose of the role:

Reporting into the Marketing Director, this role requires a strong customer focus combined with commercial mind set to develop our digital strategy. You will lead the digital team - taking full responsibility of online sales targets, the digital acquisition strategy and user experience, plus sit in the Leadership team and be involved in wider strategic decisions.

In this role you will:

  • Manage budgets, set performance targets, and report on key eCommerce metrics and KPIs.
  • Drive growth through acquisition of new customers
  • Drive growth in customer conversions - increasing bookings online / driving calls to contact centre.
  • Drive efficiency of paid search campaigns and affiliate partnerships
  • Maximise return through organic search.
  • Optimise performance of email marketing using personalisation and automation
  • Ownership of the product roadmap - leading the development and implementation of new digital functionality - always focused on UX.
  • Engage our customers online - use the websites to bring the brands to life, working with the creative team to enrich the web content, best showcasing our products through creative assets, UGC and emotive language.
  • Own the digital supplier relationships - from our search agency to external developers.
  • Analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, IT, and contact centre to drive cohesive and effective eCommerce initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the Digital team.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing eCommerce strategies that drive significant revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, SEO, email marketing, social media, and online merchandising.
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms and related technologies.
  • Strategic focus, demonstrating leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Genuine passion and enthusiasm for travel
  • Strong people management experience
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
