JOB TITLE: Executive Programme Director

DEPARTMENT: Construction Management

JOB FUNCTION: Oversees and responsible for developing strategic plans for projects, and leading the projects team to ensure projects are completed to budget, timely and with minimal risk.

DIRECT REPORTS: Yes

LOCATION: Stamford Bridge with regular travel to Cobham and Kingsmeadow

CONTRACT: Permanent, 40 hours, any 5 in 7

PLAY YOUR PART (Main Responsibilities):

  • Executive level communication with board, Club executives, and project stakeholders regarding key project issues and updates.
  • Develop project strategic plan, staffing plan, schedule, priorities and tasks for the overall project team
  • Presentations to stakeholders, public entities and community groups
  • Oversight and management of large team assigned to the project
  • Define and layout vendor procurement strategy and schedule and manage procurement
  • Create and update high level milestone schedule
  • Monitor and manage progress of design team and construction team throughout the duration of the project.
  • Understand and define potential risks of the project and communicate effectively
  • Assemble and maintain reliable project budgets and monitor adherence by all parties to the agreed budgets regarding the described responsibilities.
  • Monitor adherence to the agreed project schedule and advise of recovery measures as may be required.
  • Report on quality of the work and manage resolution of all non-compliance items.
  • Understand and ensure the team is obtaining all permits, inspections and approvals.
  • Manage turnover of the project, and closeout of all assigned project contracts and accounts.
  • Member of the Club’s Senior Leadership Team
  • Accountable for leading Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) within their own business area
  • Align their/the teams’ activities to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) outcomes.
  • Communicate their commitment to ED&I to their staff and across the Club

PROUD TO BE CHELSEA (Person Specification):

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Construction Engineering, Building Construction, Engineering, or Architecture is preferred.

Experience:

  • Significant and proven experience as project engineer, project manager, project director or project executive for a major design, construction or program management firm on large complex
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, quickly establishing credibility with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level presentation skills.
  • Experience in managing personnel
  • Superior collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multi-task, and produce all deliverables in a timely manner.
  • This position requires living in the London area, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced jobsite environments.
  • Must be flexible to work non-traditional hours due to the accelerated nature of the projects.
