Editorial Manager

GlobalPETS (and our magazine PETS International) has been the leading B2B go-to online and print publication for the pet industry since 1988, connecting businesses in a pets’ world. We offer up-to-date industry news, in-depth information and the latest market trends.

We’re looking for a motivated and multi-skilled journalist to join our small editorial team as the right-hand person to our Editor-in-Chief.

You’ll play a key role in our print and online publications. You’ll both write articles yourself, as well as help oversee (and improve) the editorial operations and output.

What you’ll do:

- Work with the Editor-in-Chief to oversee the day-to-day operations of our publications:

• Help design and execute the editorial strategy for each publication
• Take an active role in processing pitches/story ideas from journalists as well as sharing assignments.
• Work with our team of journalists and proofreaders to deliver high-quality stories.

- Write engaging and insightful articles yourself

• Actively monitor the latest industry trends and produce in-depth coverage
• Develop relationships with key actors in the pet industry to enhance editorial coverage

- Assume temporary leadership of the editorial team in the absence of the Editor-in-Chief

What you bring to the table:

• At least 4 years of experience in similar positions in a B2B environment
• Leadership and management skills within editorial teams
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Strong ability to work autonomously
• Problem-solving and can-do attitude
• Native English proficiency, with additional languages being highly valued

Nice to haves:

• Experience in covering business-related topics such as company earnings, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, and startups
• Proficiency in data analysis, data gathering, and data-oriented articles

Location: Remote (based in the Central European Time zone)
