They are a fast moving, complex and constantly evolving business, and your ability drive change as part of the leadership team will be essential, as they embark on a significant finance transformation journey. This is also a critical appointment to support the business in its continued growth vision.

THE ROLE

A new Director of Group Finance opportunity based in the Northwest. Reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) the role will bring together central accounting functions and have a critical support role in the finance transformation journey.

The role is one of transformation. It will require an ability to deliver on business-as-usual activities including reporting and control, whilst also being an active stakeholder and end customer of the finance transformation journey, working collaboratively with the Programme team. You will be overseeing and building an effective Central Group Finance function with c.100 people and with the aim of achieving industry leading best practice for this newly established ‘Centre of Excellence.’

You will have oversight over finance transactions/ operations teams including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP); Central Accounting Functions such as Group Reporting, Internal Controls and Systems. You will also be responsible for the group consolidation and reporting to the Parent and a thought partner to the business on key financial matters.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Due to the significant level of finance transformation, you will need to have demonstrable experience of transformation as well as operational finance for this new Director of Group Finance opportunity

Experience of finance transformation, process standardisation and efficiency is essential and involvement in an ERP-driven transformation highly desirable

Must be qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and a recent track record of full ownership of all Group Finance matters in a significant group, with strong technical skills, including detailed knowledge of IFRS and ESG reporting

Significant leadership experience including a track record of building and managing large and high performing teams through periods of change and must include experience of running finance operations/ transactional teams

Experience of preparing and presenting materials for Board and Audit Committee meetings

High impact communication and presentation skills and to be comfortable challenging the status quo

Experience of working in a multi-site operationally focused business is desirable

Based in the Northwest, hybrid working will be considered. A willingness to travel will be important
