Job Description:

CORE POWER is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant with at least 2 years of experience to join our dynamic finance team. Based in our brand-new offices in Chiswick Park, you will work closely with the Financial Controller and the wider team in London, Washington, DC, and Tokyo.


In this role, you will be responsible for managing various accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across our UK operations and consolidated entities in the US, UK, and Japan. This is an excellent opportunity for a data-driven individual looking for progression in our fast-growing company.


Key Responsibilities:


Financial Reporting:

  • Consolidated Accounts: Prepare consolidated accounts for our entities in the US, UK, and Japan.
  • Cash Flow: Prepare and manage cash flow statements.
  • Trial Balance: Execute and take ownership of trial balance analysis.


Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Supplier Invoices: Post supplier invoices, ensuring accurate coding by entity and cost code.
  • Expense Claims: Review and approve employee expense claims.
  • Supplier Invoice Approval: Coordinate the approval process for supplier invoices.
  • Customer Invoices & Credit Notes: Create and post customer invoices and credit notes.
  • Aged Debtors/Creditors: Prepare monthly aged debtors/creditors listings, investigating and chasing any outstanding balances.


Payments & Reconciliations:

  • Weekly Supplier Payments: Prepare and input weekly supplier payment schedules into Banks.
  • Month-End Journals: Post month-end journals, including depreciation, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Complete monthly bank reconciliations and analyse accounts and variances.


Payroll & Compliance:

  • Payroll: Process payroll ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • VAT: Verify VAT for submission.


Additional Duties:

  • Financial Statements: Assist in the preparation of quarterly and year-end financial statements.
  • Audit: Support audit requirements and provide necessary documentation.
  • KYC: Assist with Know Your Customer (KYC) processes for shareholders.
  • Share Certificates: Help with the registration of new investors.
  • Insurance: Manage insurance processes for the year.
  • Pension: Handle pension-related tasks.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Qualifications: ACCA professional accounting qualification
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK accounting principles and practices.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with international financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with Xero accounting software.
  • Previous experience in a multi-entity environment.
