Some really interesting pointers here for board members and their executive management teams. While C-suite executives acknowledge their board’s proficiency in core oversight areas, they signal a need for upskilling in other areas of board oversight. The survey results suggest an underlying issue: a perceived gap in the board’s ability to pivot and adapt amid the whirlwind of rapidly evolving strategic challenges and business risks. Finally had an update on when the International Sustainability Standards S1 & S2 are expected to come into play in the UK. It appears that they are expecting to be able to publish the UK-endorsed standards in Q1 2025, with disclosure requirements for non-listed companies and any possible exemptions to follow. With a fair wind then, it doesn't seem likely that any actual reporting will be done until 2026. However in an election year, with consultation to follow and a lot of use of the word "expects" in the document - I wouldn't bet on it just yet. #sustainability #financialreporting https://lnkd.in/ehvnJGax

This is a great read - Many chairs and board members I talk to mention the shift in reporting standards and expectations, driven by the impact of sustainability-related financial disclosure requirements. With that in mind, it is crucial that we, as leaders, prepare our organisations for the growing expectations around sustainability, embedding a sustainability focus and mindset into our strategies and operations and ensuring compliance with our board duties.
