Fordhall Organic Farm, in Market Drayton, north Shropshire, is England’s first community-owned farm following a high profile campaign in 2006. We aim to show that small-scale farming, connected to the local community, offers a viable way of life for generations to come. The farm has been chemical free for over 65 years, and we rear cattle, sheep and pigs on an outdoor extensive grazing system.

Westminster only recycles 24% of its waste. The recycling champion role is tackling this issue through communicating with local residents and businesses, running events and visiting waste facilities to provide clear information and guidance on how to manage our waste.

I am currently researching the key issue of contamination in recyclable waste in order to produce educational material and media articles to inform Westminster's residents about the issues that they can help us avoid.

Based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. My role was to offer external professional insight into the operations of the restaurant element of this wonderful charity. Working with staff who had come through the programme themselves, I audited processes from food safety to maintenance and assisted the operations manager in launching a new cookery experience for tourists. At the end of the project I delivered a full report of recommendations, and am due to revisit the sites in January 2020.

This involved: photographing whales and dolphins and recording them for local and international monitoring databases as part of a small international team; listening to and making recordings of whale and dolphin vocalisations; capturing loggerhead turtles in the open ocean for tagging and release.

All this was part of the effort to elucidate the animals’ life histories and migration patterns across the oceans and assist with the formulation of effective conservation strategies. Our team worked from a modern catamaran research boat, and crew members worked in rotation to cook meals for everyone after returning onshore.
