Here's how you can adapt brand guidelines for remote work.
One aspect far too many businesses get wrong is their brand voice. Businesses spend time getting the visual aspect of a brand right but then have no direction on how to communicate effectively across all channels, be it in person or online. Setting out a clear brand voice will make sure your communications are cohesive and keeps them on brand. I would urge any business to conduct an internal survey asking key questions about the business. Ask how they feel about the business and what they feel the business stands for. You will probably fine a lot of differing thoughts and if that is the case, your brand voice is not cohesive for your team, so will not be for your customers.

Working in travel, the customer journey we focus all marketing around is Dreaming, Planning, Booking, Cancellation, Experiencing and Sharing. From my experience, not defining clear goals and expectations is the downfall or most agency/client relationships. This needs to be set out during the initial discussions prior to them becoming a paying client. Set out what is achievable within the constraints of the clients sector and budget and agree goals together. In saying this, I tend to find most client goals are unachievable, but this is down to lack of data so research and diving into their current data is key.

If you are a tours and activities operator, you are in a unique position. Be it walking tours, cycling tours, bus tours or an axe throwing experience (amazing, you must try it), you have the opportunity to enhance the life of someone who experiences one of your amazing products. But before you can do this, people first need to know that your business, and your product, exists. For this, you’ll need to put some time and thought into your digital marketing.
When you begin working on digital marketing in the T&A sector, it can be easy to get lost in the sea of social media platforms, online travel agents (OTAs) and Google rankings, but bad digital marketing is normally down to just one thing — a poorly conceived or non-existent digital strategy.
My hope is that ‘Lookers into Bookers’ helps tour operators around the globe to grow their brands and flourish online. The tours and activities sector is growing as more and more travellers seek authentic or exciting experiences. As more people plan the entirety of their trips online, good digital marketing and social media are a necessary road to success.

The main website, grayline.com, took over 8 months of design, development, testing and testing again. The functionality the team created that goes on behind the scenes is outstanding and helps make the user experience an enjoyable and easy one. The results so far have been terrific. A true Lead Generating Monster!
