We’ve used natural language from FTSE 100 CEOs on earning calls to assess their leadership style… The model we use to assess leadership is the interpersonal circumplex, which places individuals based on their use of agentic and communal language: Agentic - leaders who use language which indicates they are likely to exert their influence in the pursuit of personal goals. Communal - language suggests they are likely to use social cohesion in pursuit of group goals. Top Leadership Styles Amongst FTSE100: 💡 1. Inspirational - (high agentic, moderate-to-high communal) - 39 CEOs 👉 2. Directive - (high agentic, moderate-to-low communal) - 27 CEOs 🚌 3. Coaching - (moderate-to-high agentic, high communal) - 14 CEOs Research has shown that CEOs in the upper right hand quadrant (inspirational and coaching) are associated with higher returns. This doesn’t mean they are the only styles which generate success. I find it strange to read that leaders think there is a start and finish date in transformation. Change is constant this has to be built into the culture of an organisation. There are projects to improve process or outcomes, these need full focus of leadership.

New Oxford and EY Study Reveals Crucial Role of Human-Centric Approaches in Steering Corporate Transformations My four takeaways: 1. Turning points are common in transformation/change programs and 96% of leaders experience at least one 2. Programs that lack the human-centric focus are 1.6 times more likely to underperform and 3.5 times more likely to negatively affect employee emotions, leading to feelings of anxiety, fear, and apprehension towards future changes. 3. Leaders who adopt an adaptive, human-centered, people focus approach can accelerate the overall process by 2.1 times. This nearly doubles the performance of the program against established key performance indicators (KPIs) and enhances workforce readiness for subsequent transformations. 4. The study introduces a three-step process (Sensing, Sense-making, Acting) aimed at increasing the chances of a successful transformation. (early detection of changes, identifying and addressing root causes collaboratively, and reinforcing key transformation drivers such as engaged leadership and a supportive culture)
