Is the Graduate (post-study work) Visa broken for the UK Electronics Industry? This visa grants 2 years of unrestricted work, but what happens afterwards? Despite holding post-study work visas, many brilliant graduates with Master's Degrees in subjects such as Electrical & Electronics Engineering find themselves unable to utilise their expertise within the UK's tech industry. In our experience, the overwhelming majority of companies do not offer sponsorship due to cost or complexity, leaving skilled graduates in roles far from their specialised training as their visas' clock ticks down. This situation, which should be opening doors for international talent to contribute meaningfully to the tech landscape, is instead a missed opportunity - for both the graduates and the industries in need of their skills. It's a critical juncture that calls for swift action.
