How can you manage people during a business transformation?
Be very clear why the business needs to transform, what is the strategic objective with the transformation, and how everyone can contribute to achieving that objective. If the transformation involves reorganization and, in the most challenging case lay-offs, get past that stage quickly, ethically, and with compassion - periods of transformation are challenging, and you'll need your people to "look forward to tomorrow", not "fear tomorrow".

You’re a new manager who needs to motivate your team. What are the best ways to inspire them?
If you are "a new manager" then, without a doubt, the best way to inspire your team is to actively listen (as opposed to just hearing) to what they consider the art of the possible, and how to get there. Too many managers believe they will make a strong mark and impression by 'stepping in and taking control' on day one, whereas in reality - a manager that shows from day one that they respect the accumulated expertise in the team, and aspire to help unlock every team members potential, will far supercede in both delivery and team commitment.

What are the most common mistakes in executing your business strategy?
1. The first mistake tends to be failure to articulate the strategic objective clearly, or confusing it with the organization's Vision. If the vision is to "be the go-to organization for clients in [sector]", then the strategic objective may be "to achieve a market share of +30%". 2. The second mistake tends to be not implementing measurable KPIs to measure the effectiveness of your tactical engagement (i.e., the day-to-day actions that will ultimately deliver the strategic objective). 3. A third typical failure tends to be a failure to align the organization around what tactical actions constitute the highest priority, resulting in "lots of activity" but "little actual progress"
