"You're being a victim.... ... and for that reason I need to... let this friendship go." 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸. I heard a saying that you are the sum of the 5 people you surround yourself with What would you do if someone close to you would not let go of victim mentality? We love the people in our lives dearly and sometimes we get stuck between a rock and a hard place. When you've been friends for years it's hard to honour your boundaries. 𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵 𝗯𝘂𝘁 allowing your energy to be depleted does not work at this level. Ignoring calls is a short term solution. Dreading picking up the phone is unsettling. People don't change- They shift, but it takes a lot of self awareness and desire to break old patterns. If you are in this situation ask yourself: 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗲? 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝗱 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲? 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, "𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝘁?" I personally have this pattern that shows up, "No person left behind." And because of this story I feel guilty about walking away from people and situations that need my help. Those patterns cost me joy and happiness. Those patterns cost me freedom and self expression. Those patterns had me hang on to things I should have let go of a lot sooner. 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙚'𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜...𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙨 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚. We think it's the mechanisms that create results in life and business. That's only part of the puzzle. The other part is our ability to recognize the patterns that keep us stuck and being in action to shift the patterns. Sometimes we get to love our friends from a distance. Support them. And not give time and energy to victim mentality. Why? They matters but so do we. Let's adopt that mentality and see where it takes us. What bold actions have you had to take recently?

Were politicians ALWAYS THIS BAD...? (Although I reference Labour in this video this might apply to the whole political class .. ) When I was younger, I distinctly remember politicians being compelling, witty, clever, and plausible in their interviews and speeches. Looking back, I wonder if I was just more gullible, or has the ability of politicians to communicate effectively diminished over time? Regardless of a politician’s seniority, the topic at hand, or their political persuasion, many MPs today seem incapable of doing more than parroting the party line. They often come across as evasive, failing to genuinely engage with the questions posed, and instead, they jump straight into rehearsed talking points. How often do we say it’s just not normal.. the way I’m reacting or the way you’re talking or the reaction we are having is just not normal… Back up a minute and first assess the situation. Is it a “normal” situation? Is it something that can be handled “normally”? And what does that even mean? What is “normal”? Everyone has a different definition of “normal” so who says what’s normal and what’s not normal. As Victor Frankl says “an abnormal reaction to an abnormal situation is normal behavior”. So cut yourself some slack and do what you need to do and don’t worry about it being normal or not! If you need to ask that question then it’s not and whatever you do is great!
