What TA patterns can you use to identify trend reversals or continuations?
Rudyard Kipling begins his poem "IF": “If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs." That's an apt reversal indicator. Multiple patterns can signal a reversal. It's the concomitant atmosphere which delivers a clear vindication of major trend reversal. When the shoe shine boy offers stock tips was a classic in the 1920's. More recently when the store clerks are speaking Bitcoin & magazine lifestyle sections talk crypto currency, you can see the mania build. Chart patterns will help 'time' the bursting bubble. When the sound on the street is silence or outright cynicism - "I would never buy that!" - I go to my charts & wonder "If" there are signs of a bottom...

How do you use candlestick patterns to identify signals?
The joy of candlestick charts is they can provide a low latency inspiration on whether to trade or not without first having to spend time on oodles of statistics or indicators. Take an interesting signal, appreciate what it really means and what its implications are likely to be then overlay it with your preferred indicators to see if that gives you a sound trading signal to enter or exit the market.

How can you get feedback and suggestions from peers and mentors?
Target your queries so your friends are calm about offering constructive criticisms. Start by asking them what they thought went well with the speech / presentation... Then ask them did they perceive any spots did not go as well as they might? What did they think could be improved? By framing this way it helps open up the criticism. In my experience, pro speakers will be much more frank about offering input than your friends / peers. Equally WATCH yourself if you have any video coverage - listen carefully to see how the audience reacted as well as looking at your own body language and mannerisms... often you will see things that can be improved.

If you’re trying to get a handle on how technology is affecting life and markets there’s a new book to help you.
“Twenty years on from the excitement of the original fintech bestseller “Capital Market Revolution!” it’s time to look at some of those loose strands hanging around which need a spot of perspective whether you are an exchange parishioner, a fintech professional, or anybody just trying to stay abreast of where technology is now driving investments and finance.
“Victory or Death” - Blockchain, Cryptocurrency & the FinTech World is an easy read explaining the differing and diverging role of banks and exchanges, explaining the winning business models of the new world order and placing in perspective just what Bitcoin, Blockchain and cryptocurrency mean for markets. It's 70,000 words of pure play PLY pith, pacily discussing matters of moment and revisiting the original trailblazing first fintech bestseller “Capital Market Revolution!” which when published in 1999 proved, even if I say so myself: rather prescient!
It’s a binary world - your career will sustain or collapse in the next stage of the digital world, hence the title “Victory or Death” lest you need reminding of the exciting times for finance in which we are living.
Victory or Death is published by DV Books and is distributed by Ingram worldwide. -

Capital Market Revolution!
FT Prentice Hall
Capital Market Revolution! was my first book and remains a fascinating period piece today.
At the time it was viewed as a radical view of the future of markets and market infrastructure, predicting the widespread death of open outcry trading on exchanges, the rise to prominence of clearing services, the move to 'for profit' exchanges, the rise of hedge funds and ETFs, the development of Single Stock Futures and many other issues (such as the birth/rise of sports/prediction markets) that…Capital Market Revolution! was my first book and remains a fascinating period piece today.
