Our latest survey offers a comprehensive look at the current state of selling, featuring insights from 800 front-line sellers. A standout finding: 3 out of 4 respondents believe they could save at least an hour by eliminating the task of creating personalized emails for prospects. While personalization is essential for connecting with prospects, it’s also incredibly time-consuming. Sellers understand its importance, but those hours quickly add up. As the content developer, facilitator, and coach of a large sales process realignment program to our global new business teams in Europe and North America, here are 12 key elements that have helped me have an impactful launch: 💡 Foster a safe environment where team members are empowered to contribute. Provide multiple mediums vs. asking individuals to solely speaking in a group setting. Chat, polls, reactions are great ways to build the foundations. Breakout rooms are even better. 💡Know that at times the biggest learnings will come from peer-to-peer interaction and not from your content or delivery. Make sure there is a platform to make that happen. Implement scenario based exercises that bring things to life in a tangible fashion and drive conversation 💡Prepare. Prepare. Prepare. Know the deals, know the numbers, speak to things the team may not have already considered. Building credibility starts with speaking a common language with your audience in their terms not yours. 💡Get to know your participants. Euro 2024 their thing, talk about it. Just came back from a tropical vacation, amazing. Closed a deal recently, celebrate it. This should be a priority 💡Challenge the team to think differently. If each member of a session with 70+ attendees thinks and implements 1-2 things differently in their process that leads to positive change, think about the ripple effects that poses for customer engagement, deal acceleration and revenue growth. 💡Even though this is a sales process realignment program, ensure the group really knows the program is centered around driving a frictionless BUYING process where we truly listen to customer needs and understand their challenges. Solutioning only comes when we understand the depth of the challenge, the impacts and what it really takes to create A differentiated, positive outcome. 💡Ask for feedback. What was immediately actionable, how will they implement and one thing team members gained from the session that they didn't expect to. Take this seriously. 💡Themes are important. It gives your live delivery an anchor point and something that you can reinforce throughout. Ours where rigor, consistency and contrast. 💡Inject humor. Don't take yourself too seriously. Ask yourself, would you listen to this person? If you even have to think about that answer, may be time to think about something different. 💡Embrace silence. Give your team members an opportunity to absorb. Ask them to think introspectively without responding. Listen. Don't just move through the content to move through the content. 💡Quick reviews from the prior session. Amazing to see the difference in take aways from a group in the moment vs. when they've sat with and applied concepts in just 7 days. 💡Draw on the slides. Write down the answers to questions that you pose to the group. Emphasize, underline, highlight. Visual recall is extremely important.
