YELLOWSTONE BEATS TARGET ON RECORD-BREAKING LATAM FUND Manager closes fund on $500mn after 18 months, less than half the average time for a LatAm private equity real estate fund - Colombian firm Yellowstone Capital Partners, with $1.3bn AUM, has made the final close on its $500mn Yellowstone Flagstone Opportunity Fund IV (YFOF IV), closing well over its $400mn target. - The first close in September 2023 drew in $475mn in commitments from institutional investors already in Yellowstone’s predecessor fund and a $25mn GP commitment. - This is the largest private equity real estate fund with a Colombia-focused strategy ever raised, and the largest in Latin America (LatAm) to close this year. - YFOF IV will focus on capital preservation with early liquidity through the development of sustainable large-scale for-sale residential communities, and landmark income-producing assets, the same as its predecessor fund. The funds will invest in science-driven solutions to human and planetary health challenges. 🔴 Madrid based Seaya raised €300M for its Seaya Andromeda fund. The fund will back startups across Europe and the UK that are working on solutions for energy and decarbonization, the circular economy, and the sustainable food value chain. 🔴 Menlo Park based The Westly Group raised its $100M seed fund to focus on entrepreneurs transforming the energy, mobility, building, and industrial sectors. 🔴 Boston based J2 Ventures raised its second $150M fund to invest in deep technology startups for the US government. 🔴 Menlo Park based Kleiner Perkins raised $825M for its twenty first early stage fund and $1.2B for its KP Select III fund. A common thread in my life has been creating things I wish existed for me at a certain point in time, and this is no exception. I set out to create the simplest, most straight forward and accessible introductory resource to VC possible. Part I is now available - like & comment below for free access ⬇ If you: ✅ Want to get into VC ✅ Are new to VC and have no idea where to start ✅ Are an LP/Angel or want to invest in startups ✅ Are a founder (who should know more about who you're taking money from) ✅ Are VC curious Then this crash course is for you. When I first started in VC, I truly had little idea wtf I was doing 🤷♀️ In trying to figure out how to do my job, I found that whilst there was a lot of information out there, existing courses/materials tended to be: ✖ Fragmented and disorganised ✖ Confusing (i.e. assumed pre-existing subject knowledge) ✖ Inefficient (i.e. read a 400 page book that could be summarised in 20) ✖ Expensive/exclusive (we’ll get to that soon...) Entering VC truly is a baptism of fire, and you’ll likely be thrown in the deep end. Had I have had this when I started, I would have been at least 6 months ahead. Finally, this content will always be free. VC has a diversity issue and I want everyone to have the opportunity to, and feel encouraged to, succeed in this industry.
