Great new stats and report by our friends at Dash Hudson and NielsenIQ. We'd like to add that the growth has been seen not only across Beauty but Fashion and FMCG (especially, wellness and food) categories are rapidly catching up as well. Social commerce is becoming the revenue channel that every brand and retailer starts to add to their omni-channel sales strategy. And that's how future of shopping will be shaped. SoSquared turns 2 today 🎂 It’s been 2 years since we launched the first version of our platform and what a journey it has been. 💚 Built a community of over 2,500 active creators on the platform 💚 This has resulted in a whopping 35,000 applications to campaigns 💚 And led to over 4,200 collaborations being completed (that is nearly 6 a day) 💚 Been at the heart of the growth of TikTok Shop and built an incredible partnership 💚 Worked with some of the best in the industry, from brands, agencies and marketing gurus 💚 Built a great team of 8 which is soon to be joined by 2 more 💚 Personally spoke on more stages than a politician  💚Countless awards We’ve seen incredible highs and the lowest of lows, long days & nights and plenty of bad language. “If you're not embarrassed by the first version of your product you’ve launched too late” (carousel is a scary trip down memory lane). But we did launch too late and I will share more about that in a series of post over the next couple of weeks. So many lessons can be learnt from your first startup and I am extremely grateful to all the amazing people I have built around me as part of my own ecosystem. A huge thanks to MAD//FEST LONDON for having me yesterday on the Creator Economy stage - and to everyone who made it down to the Creators Driving Commerce talk! ICYMI, here's the top takeaways: 💸 Get ahead on livestream shopping - the market in China has seen growth of 620Bn in the last 7 years, and can increase conversion rates by up to 5x 💸 Think long term when it comes to your creator partnerships - this is how you gather the data to understand the profile of a seller for your brand. Take our The Very Group case study (linked in comments) as an example here - after 12 months, we drove a 1:17 return for the brand. 💸 Do your homework on who you're partnering with - interrogate the insights, there's no use investing in a creator whose CTR just doesn't match up to their follower size. 💸 Get your tracking method locked early - whether discount codes, affiliates or trackable links - and if using trackable links, ensure your website houses a first party pixel to provide a more holistic view on the user interactions leading up to a sale 💸 Bring your creator network up to speed on the overall objective. Too often the focus is on the output alone - bring them on the journey of what you hope to achieve, whether that is sales, traffic, or engagement, and allow them to optimise their content accordingly. #MADfest2024 #CreatorEconomy

Key dates not to miss in June for ecom brands: 1st June – 30th: Pride Month → Show your support for the LGBTQ+ community. → Educate your audience, collaborate with LGBTQ+ influencers, and support their causes. → Be authentic with your marketing though, demonstrate an ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion strategies all year round. 14th June: Flag Day (US) → Show off your brand’s patriotism with relevant promotions. → Create a sense of togetherness. → Decorate your website and update your marketing materials to celebrate the day. 16th June: Father’s Day → Remember that some people will be looking to gift a ‘father figure’ (dad, grandad, mentor) → Put together relevant gift guides to help those struggling with ideas (e.g. when they already have enough socks...) → Also, don’t forget to add gift wrap and messaging options as easy wins. 20th June: Summer Solstice → Summer-themed promotions. → Seasonal product releases. → Summer giveaways. 26th – 30th June: Glastonbury Festival → Ensure that your campaigns are relevant for people going to the festival. → Promote products that they might need. → Make your content light-hearted and fun. Selling event tickets on social media is on the rise, and Eventbrite and TikTok's new partnership may be set to accelerate that. Event organisers can now embed event links directly into Tiktok videos, and payments can be made within the same buying journey. With over a billion Tiktok users, growing social media adoption, and 64% of Gen Zers having used the platform as a search engine (https://lnkd.in/d3Mws8zR), I'd be amazed if this new integration doesn't help to reach new audiences. Increasing touch points with customers has always been a focus for event platforms, and I'm intrigued to see how this new integration takes off, and whether we see more ticketing platforms adopt social media as an additional route of reaching new audiences. If this is the case, a slick buying journey is crucial. Messy forms, unecessary clicks, confusing pricing, and poor UX would lose the impact of the hook immediately. Great day out at the DMWF in London yesterday. Here are my three key takeaways... 1️⃣ Advertising needs to be contextual but not interrupt your user experience. Uber spoke about how they partner with brands to deliver in app adverts that are relevant to the riders end destination. They also change the format of the ad based on where they are in their user journey as not to interrupt their experience. 2️⃣ It's all about the optimum channel not omnichannel. Fairly self explanatory but you should be looking at optimising the channels your customers want to receive information, not just littering platforms with content for contents sake. 3️⃣ Marketing metrics have become about satisfying shareholders, not about improving customer experience. And finally, yes, I am sneaking in a fourth... There are other people wanting to rid the world of the marketing funnel!! 🤗 Turning your marketing funnel into a circular journey is the way forwards for customer-centricity, for your marketing metrics, for your marketing process, for your marketing platforms, all of your marketing and your sanity. #contextmarketingconsultancy #marketing
