A scarcity mindset destroys SaaS businesses. A huge flaw I see with founders just getting on Google Ads is that they always want more leads. They think that’s the only way to grow. But they don’t realise that you can control the MRR / AOV of the lead so you don’t need more leads. You just need one unicorn lead that adds $100k/month overnight. Instead of asking 100 different users for $1k/month. Find that one lead who is willing to pay you $100k/mo for 12 months straight. What do they look like? They are multi-billion dollar corporations with large numbers of employees. Target them with Google Ads. Trust me, it’ll make your life so much easier & simpler.

I own 3 x leading ecom agencies in the DTC space. If I was building an agency to 7 figures again from scratch… These are the 3 main strategies I’d use to sign more and bigger clients ⬇️ → Send Follow-Ups Anyone can send a good cold email or DM, but most stop there. Follow up with thoughtful messages, without being annoying. We’ve engaged with clients for up to 12 months and built up solid relationships before bringing them on board! → Specificity Wins Clients want clarity. Instead of saying “we’ll do your marketing,” say “we’ll run X campaign, using Y strategies and you’ll get Z results.” Remember: Don’t overpromise and underdeliver. Underpromise and overdeliver. → Be Confident Imposter syndrome can be tricky. But you have to talk back to it. You’re here because you’ve worked hard for it. Even if you don’t know how to do something yet, trust yourself to figure it out along the way. Back yourself. Be confident in your abilities and trust yourself to figure things out. 8 super-duper ways to be a better affiliate marketer (for lenders) A short 🧵… 1️⃣ Make sure everything takes forever. NDA needs to be signed? Let it take 2 weeks Partner needs a data input? Drag it out for 3 weeks Scheduling a QBR? Exchange emails for a month 2️⃣ Agree to "circle back" anytime you get a data-oriented question How many accounts per month would you like to receive? -> I'll have to circle back What approval rates do you see in other channels? -> I'll have to circle back What are your top decline reasons? -> I'll have to circle back Bonus: Make your Zoom background a sign that says "I'll have to circle back". That'll make your weekly meetings even more efficient. 3️⃣ Make sure you never answer questions directly over email Move everything to "a quick call." Then, follow tip 1 to make sure scheduling that quick call takes forever. Then, once on the phone, use tip 2 to circle back on any inputs that require data. Trifecta. 4️⃣ Make sure you treat your affiliate partners like 2nd class citizens You're writing the checks, so make sure they know who's boss. Don't make requests, make demands. Don't worry about whether your demand aligns with their business. Remember, you pay the bills. You call the shots. 5️⃣ Make sure to overpromise and underdeliver The worse you make them look internally, the harder they'll work for you to save face for the next time. It'll feel a little weird at first, but it pays off in the long run. 6️⃣ Blindside your partner as often as possible CPA reduction? Do it as a surprise. Communicate over email or text if possible. Demand compliance in the same business day. Underwriting tightening? Just do it and hope they don't notice. When you're scaling a DTC brand from $5m to $30m, don't try to optimize for lowest cost of capital when you raise debt financing... The lenders out there who can offer the lowest cost of capital usually can't offer the capital flexibility and deal terms that you need as you scale. Low cost of capital lenders don't love DTC. It scares them because there is little to no A/R and inventory is a riskier collateral base. As such, they'll either offer you way too little capital availability or their offer will come with hefty protective provisions that feel punitive. Non-bank lenders tend to be the best fit for a DTC-heavy brand that is scaling profitability beyond $5m in annual sales. Traditional bank lenders, which offer lower cost of capital, tend to become a better option after you hit $30m+ in annual sales. Obviously, there are always exceptions to this rule, but the advice I'm offering here turns out to be true most of the time in my experience. __ Want more tips like this? I promised Lee Anderson a list of things we did to get incredibly high google rankings👇 1 - General good practice. Proper page headers and tags, fast loading & mobile freindly 2 - Write the pages as if you were explaining things to your mate in the pub, you will know far more than you think about your area of expertise, explain it in basic terms, split it into sections and pages, make them informative, not too long and link them, you want the reader to click another page. Update your site often 3 - Google reviews, as many as possible as regular as possible and keep them coming constantly 4 - Social Media, post loads of content daily on the channels you like and link to your website, it can only be good google sees you are alive every day. Facebook ads are a cheap way to throw quick eyes on your page which might help 5 - Backlinks - get any customers or suppliers who agree to do small write ups with links to your website on there website I am sure there is loads more things and a lot of this is speculaction but it’s the main things we did and now we get shed loads of organic visitors every day. It’s really hard intense work to actually do you have to be incredibly focussed and committed if you can’t then you best get a 3rd party to help but remember they can’t do point 2 which is the main one This is the kind of info I wrote up there are quite a few pages though all covering different things

Here's my pitch to Rewind... offer a Migration Ready service for Shopify store owners to quickly switch to BigCommerce or Woo in the event that their store gets shut down by Shopify. Here's why... You might have seen Ace Reunis's terrifying story of waking up this morning and having his Threadheads shop shut down by Shopify. He wrote, "We received some vague, automated trademark infringement notice from Shopify, with no trademark owner or trademarks mentioned in the notice. In 7 days they’re saying they will close our account permanently." That's absolutely horrifying for a company that's on track to do $25M this year in sales, but equally destructive for a startup doing their first $100k. Unfortunately though, stories like this about Shopify shutting down stores without notice aren't that uncommon. Luckily for Threadheads, their founder was able to make a big enough splash on social media that their site seems to have already been restored today (so only a $68k loss?), but many other stores aren't so lucky. So here's my pitch to Rewind... You already integrate with Shopify, WooCommerce, and BigCommerce (among others), so offer an add-on service that automatically keeps your Shopify store data (like products, images, reviews, customer accounts, order history, pages, blog posts, etc) migration ready to Woo or BigCommerce. And/or optionally keep that data synced to a staged site on Woo or BC. From there, the merchant can have a backup payment service approved and ready to deploy on either of those platforms. That way, in the event of a Shopify Shutdown, a merchant can update their DNS and have a skeleton version of their store up and running quickly. Sure the Woo or BC store wouldn't have all the bells and whistles active right away -- such as any feature powered by a Shopify app. The store itself might also initially look like it was published with an out-of-box theme. However it could shave days or weeks off a migration, which adds up quick in terms of revenue. Is that possible Rewind? Or am I being too optimistic / naive about how much work is involved to migrate that type of data? I've only personally done it for smaller shops, and not on a pressured timeline. Otherwise, if not Rewind, are there other SaaS products that provide this type of "insurance policy" against a Shopify Shutdown?

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁: buyers want to see room for growth! ✨ Selling at the peak might sound ideal, but it can actually hurt your valuation. Here's why: 𝗕𝘂𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘂𝗽𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹: Buyers would want to see that there's potential for them to increase the profit or the cash flow of the app, so they always want to see that there's extra things they can do there. They want to see ways to increase profits even more.  When they see an app that's still growing in value, it’s a better investment. 𝗔 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲: If profits start to decline, so will the price buyers are willing to pay. 𝗦𝗼,𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲? Consider exploring an exit when your app is experiencing consistent growth in value. Leave room for buyers to add value!
