Calling all SME's. Don't forget to issue your employee P60's this month! 31st May is the deadline for issuing P60 forms to employees for the tax year ending 5 April 2024. A P60 is a certificate that outlines an employee’s total earnings and deductions, such as tax and National Insurance contributions, for the entire tax year and is an essential document for employees to prove their income for purposes like applying for a mortgage and filing their self-assessment tax returns if applicable. If a business fails to issue P60s to their employees by the deadline of 31st May, there can be several negative consequences: Penalties - The business may face penalties from HMRC for non-compliance with payroll regulations. Employee dissatisfaction - Employees may experience delays in personal financial matters requiring income verification, which can lead to dissatisfaction or complaints.
