How do you become a brand director?
To start with, you need to care about BRANDs. And for that, you need to care about people. Because the best Brands build a strong connection with people and communities. You than need to have the ability to influence internally. Everything is connected to brand - product, communication, customer service, etc... and you need to be able to exert power in a positive, persuasive, way. Being good at strategy is also important at senior level, at junior and mid-level, executional skills such as project management are more useful. Marketing qualifications are the most common path "in" although nowadays, there are many transferable skills considered from other degrees & sectors also.
