One thing i found helpful when i listen actively is that i am mindful of my body language. I ensure i have an open body language and i am careful that i am positioned myself in away that to communicates positively. Mirroring body language shows that we are in tune and this is important when working with families. We won’t always agree but for me it’s important that families i work with understand that i am willing to listen and advocate for their needs.

Storytelling for social justice can be used to advocate for equity, challenge stereotypes, and build empathy among people from different backgrounds. I would say it could be using narratives—whether written, spoken, or visual to share information about a particular issue or community in order to bring about change

Public Speaking and Lectures: Activists, academics, and experts speak at conferences, universities, and public events to educate and inspire audiences about social justice issues.
