Bringing a new Daye in gynae health ☀️

About us

Daye is a female-founded gynae health start-up on a mission to close the gender health gap for good. We started out with the invention of the world’s first pain-relieving tampon, designed to support the 90% of women who experience menstrual cramps. After helping over 75,000 women & AFAB individuals kick period pain to the curb, we launched our second generation tampon to facilitate the at-home detection of vaginal infections, STIs and HPV. Next, we want to develop solutions for under-served gynae health conditions like endometriosis, PCOS and menopause. Within the next five years, we will build an ecosystem where every woman can understand, monitor, and improve her health from her smartphone.

Femtech Leaders Unite to Discuss Social Media Censorship 🤐 Last week, our founder, Valentina, joined Dr Raj Arora, Lina Chan of Holland & Barrett, Dr. Aziza Sesay and Talilla Henchoz to highlight the deeply frustrating reality of major platforms like Meta, Google, TikTok, and Amazon routinely classifying ads related to gynaecological health as "adult" or "political" content. This inaccurate categorization severely limits the reach and impact of femtech innovations, penalizing an already under-funded and stigmatised industry. Valentina Milanova 🇺🇦 shed light on the uphill battle femtech founders face in scaling their businesses and raising awareness through channels, which are freely available to male health innovators. At Daye, we have to navigate these unfair bans daily and they severely restrict our ability to reach audiences, who need better solutions for gynaecological health. Join us in supporting this crucial conversation and the trailblazing entrepreneurs striving to revolutionize gynaecological healthcare. You can read more about the censorship femtech faces on the Center for Intimacy Justice's website. Together, we need to pave the way for a more equitable future in femtech and beyond. #femtechinnovations #gynaecologicalhealthcare #breakthestigma

Our founder, Valentina Milanova 🇺🇦, presented at the London Biotechnology Show this week on behalf of Daye and shared our mission to bridge the gender health gap through innovative femtech solutions. Some key takeaways from Valentina's talk: - Medical research has historically excluded women, with most modern medications never tested on the female physiology. This has led to a severe lack of data and understanding of women's health needs. - At Daye, we are developing a proprietary tampon platform to address female-specific healthcare needs in areas like menstrual pain relief, STI/HPV screening, fertility, and drug delivery. - Daye is also working to prevent cervical cancer through early HPV detection, as 99.8% of cervical cancer cases in the UK are preventable. Our tampons can improve access to cervical screenings. The London Biotechnology Show brought together influential leaders to explore cutting-edge biotech solutions transforming medicine and healthcare. We're proud Daye could be part of this important dialogue as we work to revolutionize women's health. Thank you to the organizers for an outstanding event!

👋 Introducing: Daye's New At-Home HPV Screening Kit 👋 We're excited to announce that Daye is expanding access to cervical cancer prevention with the launch of our new HPV Diagnostic Tampon. This convenient at-home test allows you to easily and discreetly screen for 14 high-risk HPV strains. But we know an HPV diagnosis can bring up a lot of questions and concerns. Let's break down some important facts: - HPV is extremely common. Most sexually active people will get HPV at some point. Having HPV does NOT mean you or your partner have been unfaithful or that you did anything "wrong." It's not a reflection of your character or choices. - You can absolutely still have sex if you have HPV. Use condoms to lower the risk of transmission. Consider getting the HPV vaccine if you haven't already - it may provide extra protection. - For most people, HPV clears on its own within 1-2 years. Having HPV now doesn't mean you'll have it forever or always be contagious. Your body is working to suppress the virus over time. - If you test positive, tell any current sexual partners so they're aware. But know that doctors don't recommend contacting all past partners, since almost everyone gets HPV at some point. - Routine screening is the best way to monitor for any cell changes related to HPV, so you can get prompt treatment if needed. At-home testing with your trusted, familiar tampon makes this easier than ever. We're here to provide judgment-free information and support. For more FAQs and resources on navigating sex, relationships and wellbeing with HPV, check out our new HPV screening service here: https://lnkd.in/dMfKQRbt #HPVAwareness #CervicalCancerPrevention #WomensHealth

A recent study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine sheds light on the critical role female doctors play in patient outcomes. The research found that hospitalized women aged 65 and older experienced lower mortality rates and readmission rates when treated by female physicians compared to their male counterparts. Key findings: - Women treated by female doctors had a 30-day mortality rate of 8.15% - Women treated by male doctors had a 30-day mortality rate of 8.38% While the difference may appear small, researchers estimate that closing this gender gap could prevent up to 5,000 deaths among women each year in the United States. The exact reasons for this disparity remain unclear, but the study highlights the importance of gender diversity in the medical field and the potential impact it can have on patient care. As healthcare professionals, it is crucial to recognize the value of female physicians and work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable environment in the medical community. By doing so, we can improve patient outcomes and save lives. We encourage you to read the full article and share your thoughts on this groundbreaking research. Together, let's celebrate the achievements of female doctors and support their ongoing efforts to provide exceptional care to patients. #WomenInMedicine #PatientCare #GenderEquity #HealthcareResearch https://lnkd.in/eRvta_Pw

Alarming New Figures Reveal Extent of Gynaecological Treatment Delays in England New data has uncovered a growing gynae health crisis in England, with nearly 600,000 women and AFAB folks currently waiting for gynaecological treatment - a staggering 33% increase over the past two years. This includes 33,000 women who have been waiting over a year for care. The analysis by Labour also found that no region in England has met the government's target of 80% coverage for cervical cancer screening, with only 68.7% of women screened in the past 5.5 years. For breast cancer, only 66.4% of eligible women have been screened in the last 3 years. These figures paint a troubling picture of vaginal health being neglected, with unacceptable delays in accessing vital gynaecological services. Thousands are being left to suffer in silence with debilitating conditions like endometriosis, fibroids, and pelvic pain. At Daye, we believe every woman deserves timely access to the gynaecological care she needs. These treatment backlogs are failing women and must be urgently addressed. The government's Women's Health Strategy for England is a positive step, but it's clear much more needs to be done to close the gender health gap and ensure women can access high-quality gynaecological treatment without undue delay. Women's health can no longer take a backseat. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eM7evaAK and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
