We are deeply saddened by the devastation caused by #HurricaneBeryl across the #Caribbean, the Gulf Coast of the #UnitedStates and #Mexico. Our thoughts are with those who have lost their lives, their homes or their loved ones, as well as those who are in the path of the ongoing storm. The #hospitalityindustry has a key role to play in supporting the #localcommunities, #governments and #NGOs on the ground. For all companies able to support #reliefefforts, we make the following recommendations: 🤝🏽 Connect with local #NGOs, #notforprofit organisations and civil society organisations (#CSOs) to determine how best you can support their work 📲 Donate to charitable organisations on the ground 🏨 Provide shelter, supplies and resources. If your hotel is based locally, please consider if you are able to provide any of the following: - In-kind donations, including bedding and amenities - Shelter for vulnerable people, including families, the elderly and those recovering from injuries - Food and water 🏗 Also, consider how you will support #rehabilitation in the area - working with local #charities and #government to rebuild #infrastructure and help people revive their #livelihoods. In our world today, the workforce faces many #inequalities – #genderinequality being one of them. Even though progress has been made in the past few decades, it is important to recognise that #gender #inequality is still a recurring issue and is a major violation of basic #humanrights. It is fantastic to see so many companies promoting and taking action for #equality on #InternationalWomensDay each year, but it's crucial that we continue to do so throughout the year.
