What an incredible few days in Pittsburgh! 🎉 After 12 weeks of meticulous planning with the amazing team at Remake Learning, Justin Knecht & Caroline Gilliland assembled 8 additional rockstars - Shoutout to Amil Cook, M.Ed., Josiah Gilliam, Dr. Jordan Mroziak, Laura Forester, Laura Vinchesi, Lisa Belczyk, Michelle King and Zena Ruiz for joining the band 🎸 Together, we facilitated an inspiring event for ~220 passionate individuals from around the globe at #ForgeFutures2024, proudly supported by the Global Education Leaders' Partnership (GELP) and AASA, The School Superintendents Association Our collaborative efforts in innovative spaces like the Carnegie Science Center and the Allegheny Health Network's Suburban campus community hub pushed us to reimagine the future. These venues constantly reminded us of the importance of innovation, both in the little moments and on a grand scale. What Could Be helped attendees become ethnographic researchers for a day, using field guides to understand current learning ecosystems. We crafted Cover Story Mock Ups and Concept Posters, envisioning a compelling future with invaluable input from some incredibly talented students 🤘 Being part of something so magical, alongside such wonderful humans, is truly inspiring. We were delighted to spend time with the good folks Level Agency during their 'brown bag' lunch yesterday. Exploring the question 'What should we be working on to achieve our goals?', we highlighted a method to help focus on the best problem. Justin Knecht explained how the method works, using good old pen and paper and David Townson shared a prototype prompt that allows you to take content from ChatGPT4 (or any other LLM) into Miro (or any other whiteboard). The What Could Be band kicked off the year in the North West of Ireland ☘️ Being fully remote, we always make an effort to get on stage together, and after the success of our Pittsburgh trip hosted by Justin Knecht, the bar was set high for coming to visit Caroline Gilliland. The trip did not disappoint! From castles and forts to climbing valleys and city walls. We sampled some of the best whiskeys at Bushmills and beers from Kinnegar Brewing. We enjoyed incredible eating experiences and listening to local music. From winter walks at Brook Hall Estate & Gardens to the docks of the Titanic Belfast, we didn’t miss a beat 🎶 We truly love getting the band together.
