#CannesLions Reflection 1: The world’s biggest online advertising media owners just gave the biggest endorsement for OOH. Walking through Cannes last week during the #CannesLions festival, I couldn’t help but notice all the online media owners, agencies and ad tech companies that had invested significant sums into OOH advertising around the city. Bespoke installations, experiential, even classic OOH formats - brands were everywhere in OOH! The irony wasn’t lost on me… online advertising companies that collectively attract 70% of global ad spend, choosing to invest their own ad dollars into OOH when in the presence of their industry peers. It makes sense, if you think about it. By using OOH media these advertisers could find their: - defined target audience - in a defined physical space - in a defined need state With a format that both grabs attention and drives reach and frequency at scale.
