Here are some more work in progress insights into our two lives for LOIS collab before it launches. Every collaboration has its challenges, especially when you are attempting something new and untested. Having to re-work skinny jeans in enormous amounts of colour-ways is definitely no easy task. There is very little fabric without seams or trims to work with and figuring out the colour combos send our heads spinning. Therefore it's even more rewarding to see the final product turn out so nicely! And believe us there will be some pretty unique colour-ways 💚🩵🩷 #upcycling #collaboration

We’ve had a great day at the Future Fabrics Expo -The Sustainable Angle .It's been wonderful to reconnect with some familiar people and meet new ones. Networking at these events are a valuable opportunity for sharing ideas and exchanging experiences, both successes and failures. We believe collaboration is essential for addressing the significant textile waste problem the industry faces.

What is our mission? We transform unsold clothing inventory into new products on a large scale. Why? Because there's an abundance of unused clothing, and we must reduce the production of new textiles. While upcycling isn't as efficient as traditional manufacturing yet, we believe more brands should adopt this practice. Benefits? Upcycling frees up warehouse space, cuts storage costs, and creates a new revenue stream from items that would otherwise be written off or, worse, sent to landfills or incinerated under the guise of "energy recovery." We must do everything possible to prevent deadstock from becoming waste. Upcycling guides the industry towards more responsible and sustainable practices by maximising existing resources. Consider the carbon already invested in that stock—it's a waste if not upcycled. With new EU legislation coming into effect, landfilling or incinerating textiles will soon be banned as part of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).  Significant changes are on the horizon for clothing manufacturing, management, and disposal. Want to find out more about what we do? Get in touch. We specialise in customised collaborations with a variety of companies. Our clients range from the automotive and fashion industries to game publishers, telecommunications, and more. Let's explore the possibilities. #ESPR #upcycling #ESG #EPR

What a densely packed couple of days it’s been at the Global Fashion Summit - Global Fashion Agenda in Copenhagen. Here are some of the areas covered in the panel discussion and talks: - Systems Change: It Starts With Ourselves - The Preferred Fibre Face-Off - Enabling Efficiency and Sustainability Through Traceability - Design With Intent: From Inspiration to Collaboration - Unlocking Global Collaboration - Tackling Transparency: From Farms to Fabric - Fragmented Futures: Fashion’s Policy Agenda - Lead or be Led - Future Fibers: Enabling the Circular Model Thanks to Nicole RycroftSophie Mather, António de Sousa Maia, Christine Goulay, Paul Polman and Ryan Gellert for delivering inspiring and insightful discussions We already know what needs to be done, we have done the research and collected the data. Now we have to act on this. We need to stop talking and start doing. As Edwin Keh put it: version 1.0 may not turn out perfect, it may be messy but at this stage action trumps perfection. We are all like mice that have decided that putting a bell on the cat is a good idea, we now need to work out how to do it! Systemic change needs to be driven from the inside out as well as from the outside in through legislation. Every individual, organisation and company has the power to make a change and to improve existing inefficiencies. We must start to give back more than we take. Profits and purpose have to align. What will you do today towards a net positive future? #GlobalFashionSummit #epr #espr #esg #netpositive

Interesting start to the Global Fashion Summit - Global Fashion Agenda with Paul Polman setting the scene: “it’s not a climate or deforestation crisis it’s a crisis of greed, apathy and selfishness. We know what to do. We need to become human beings again not human doings. A good leader needs to be a human first” António de Sousa Maia from the European Commission and Camilla Pang shared insights on the new Ecodesign for sustainable products regulation: Goal - creation of harmonised metrics & minimum performance requirements for textiles Focus - system thinking & design stage as intervention point to make a change Limitations - measuring durability, repairability, longevity & feedstock availability for minimum recycled content The big question is are we continuing with business as usual or are we mission driven? We’re looking forward to more discussions tomorrow! Innovate UK UKRI - Industrial Decarbonisation Challenge (IDC) #epr #esg #GlobalFashionSummit #textilewaste

15-Years of Activating Impact! 🌎   The 2024 Summit marks a significant milestone for GFA, as it signifies 15 years since the inaugural Global Fashion Summit (formerly, Copenhagen Fashion Summit) was hosted in 2009.   Since then, the forum has evolved into an unmissable date in the fashion calendar – relevant for those wishing to stay ahead on sustainability priorities, gain tangible updates on policy developments, explore new innovations, and reflect on sociocultural influences in the ever-changing fashion landscape.   This year’s Summit, under the theme Unlocking the Next Level, will not only take stock of the evolution of the sector and the progress made so far, but, most importantly, look ahead at what actions must urgently be implemented in the near term and the gaps that must be filled to unlock the next level to accelerate industry transformation.     Join us by securing your ticket for the Summit: https://lnkd.in/dShWA8vx   #GlobalFashionAgenda #GlobalFashionSummit #UnlockingtheNextLevel

We attended a very insightful event yesterday. A day of talks and panel discussions on tackling local sustainability problems and the transition to net zero and circular models. It's great to see such an interesting network of people and organisations and to have a chance to corroborate that we are all facing very similar challenges. The key area being regulation and how it not always lends itself to be the most convenient option in today's context. So much needs to evolve if we are to make some considerable progress in the journey to net zero. Look forward to the next event. #transitiontonetzero #sustainability #circularity #netzero
