Changing the way people and businesses are motivated to be active outdoors and save CO2 through the trundl charity app

About us

Joining trundl for business or individual membership is like having instant access to a charity walk, without having to raise the funds yourself. And through the CO2 Saver feature that accumulates carbon savings when members walk rather than drive, you will help plant orchards in UK schools with The Tree Council too. Come rain or shine, every trundl is much more than just a walk. Because you’re not just doing yourself good, you’re also helping UK environment and human mobility related charities. It's a walk. But it's better.

Top trundlr Alison Leah - Business Owner at Silk Office Solutions was out early this morning getting fresh air and 🌟 raising money for charity with us at the same time... without having to do the fundraising herself. What's not to love 🦔

Well that was a fun trundl 🚶♀️ As a sign of Dogs for Autism UK's popularity, we had to raise the distance and donation target twice. 🐶 Through a successful test feature on the app, our lovely brand partner OSCAR Pet Foods Ltd held a good -hearted competition between Head Office and Franchisee teams to see who could achieve the best average frequency and distance (we'll let them reveal who won...) 🐕 🚶♀️ A couple of live meet-ups were held with some beautifully behaved dogs - and humans. 🎉 As this has become an annual event, we can see that distance and donation were double those achieved last year. All thanks to our growing cohort of trundlrs for joining, staying and trundling. Huge thanks to Oscar Petfoods for being such great sports and generous partners in this trundl. And big thanks as always to all of our lovely trundl members. We really couldn't do this without you 💚 #charity #charitywalk #autism #purposedrivenbusiness

Across the past couple of months we've been testing a community feature on the trundl app with a wonderful group, led by Sue Richards and made up of a mixed group of regular and infrequent walkers. They generously allowed us to 'listen in' during their group trundl and it was a fantastic opportunity to see walking habits grow and improve and hear about the benefits they all felt from walking with purpose as a community. Even those who were already regular dog walkers and hikers were happy to respond to the gentle challenge of meeting the collective target and raising the funds they had set for their chosen cause. Those who kindly answered our check-ins felt that the incentive of walking for a cause was more compelling than a step or leader-board challenge and they enjoyed knowing that their ordinary walks could count as a fundraiser. This is the sort of impact our company members can gain when they embrace trundl and put more active travel and exercise into their day. And it's why we're passionate about encouraging more people to take up the trundl habit. We're thrilled to be welcoming more and more new company members so do get in touch if you would like to see how trundl could work such magic for you or your company. It is a walk, but with trundl it's better. #charitywalk #community #healthandwellbeing #purposedrivebusiness

Inevitably, we're huge fans of active travel and love this update from Active Travel England In fact, trundl was designed to encourage and reward short trips as much as longer ones. Not only do all steps add up towards the collective donation goal, making everyone know that they have contributed. By using the CO2 Saver feature when they can swap a short car ride for a walk, our individual and company members are preventing unnecessary carbon from getting into the air and also turning those savings into school orchards with The Tree Council. To date our members have collectively saved over 3,000 kg of carbon and we have planted 3 orchards in UK schools with The Tree Council. You can read more about this partnership in the comment, but meanwhile, if you can add more active travel into your schedule, your body, your mind and the environment will thank you for it 💚 #activetravel #walking #charitywalk

You can't beat meeting old and new friends while getting some fresh air. When you couple it with helping to create funds for a brilliant cause like Dogs for Autism UK, it made for a great morning out on Sunday. Hilary Mines met up with Helen Owen from OSCAR Pet Foods Ltd Congleton and fellow Oscar franchisees David and Maria from Oscar Pet Foods Cheadle and Macclesfield for a trundl around Astbury Mere in Congleton. Some lovely trundl members and OSCAR customers came too, bringing a fine array of canine friends. After a little bit of sniffing and sussing out who was who in the pecking order they all seemed to get on well... and that was just the humans... ba boom 🐕 It's always great to see your brand and community in action first hand and we're so grateful for all 2 and 4-legged trundlrs who braved the gloomy skies and didn't complain about the 2nd lap round the mere. Last few days of the trundl for Dogs for Autism, we're nearly at the 6,000 km point, will we smash the 6,500 km target and have to raise the donation? Only our trundlrs have the power to decide that.....we'll update by Thursday... #autism #charitywalk #partnerships #purposedrivenbusiness #dogs

Today the BBC is celebrating the impact that the amazing Dr Michael Mosely made on the nation's health by declaring it 'Just One Thing' day. It's extraordinary to hear how his researched advice, delivered in such a fun and human way, has changed - and saved - so many lives. At trundl we of course particularly love his tips about walking and getting outdoors for mental and physical health: - Early morning walks for mood boosts, better sleep and a healthier heart. - To try Nordic Walking to burn more calories and strengthen backs. - How upping the pace of a walk is more important than hitting a step count. - That walking backwards as part of a walk can benefit cognitive function. But there are so many more that many of us have incorporated into our daily lives. Do you have any favourite tips from the great man? #justonething #walking #health

According to the The National Autistic Society, more than 1 in 100 people in the UK are on the autism spectrum, with many older people still going undiagnosed. This means that in our families, communities and workplaces, most of us will know of or be directly connected to someone with autism. While there are still undoubtedly huge gaps in diagnosis, understanding and care, the progress that has been made in recent years is astonishing, not least in seeing people with autism themselves coming to the forefront to dispel the 'Rainman' and other tropes of old. For this reason, at trundl, we love the Toren Wolf feed for the generosity this family show in sharing, showing and explaining how different generations are dealing with diagnosed and late diagnosed neurodivergence. And it's why we feel passionately about supporting Dogs for Autism UK. A decade or so ago, it would have been far-fetched to think that dogs could be consistently trained to help autistic people improve their access to education, the workplace and chosen communities, while also transforming family lives. If you know of and love a person with autism, check out the link below for some incredible insight into their world. And if you like the idea of turning everyday walks into fundraisers for great UK causes, take a look at trundl. It's a walk. But it's better 💚 #autism #charity #charitywalk #purposedrivenbusiness

About a year ago trundl founders Hilary Mines and Tess Caven were lucky enough to join the opening of the new Dogs for Autism UK training centre in Hampshire. The centre was a miracle in itself having undergone an incredible transformation, almost overnight, from a barn into a fully functioning operation, thanks to the hands-on generosity of the amazing VW Group, Run the Ring. But for us, the chance to meet up with the founder Hilary Armour and COO Jan Kiley - pictured here - and see how this young charity has grown through sheer perseverance, resilience and passion for their cause was hugely inspiring. Each puppy costs around £25,000 to train across at least 2 years and with a waiting list that far exceeds current capacity, their drive for funding is continuous and urgent. trundl's regular contributions to our charity partners like Dogs for Autism may still be moderate when compared to the big donors. But by giving 30% of our income to our charity partners and by bringing in generous brand sponsors like OSCAR Pet Foods Ltd, as we grow, our collective capacity to make a difference will be huge. Simply by encouraging people to take a healthy walk with the app and turn their £1 a week into a much larger collective donation. On that point, we'll be welcoming some wonderful new companies to our cohort soon, so huge thanks to all our trundlrs, current and new. And don't forget to trundl today ❤️ #charitywalk #autism #purposedrivenbusiness

8 days in and we're already halfway through our shared distance target 🎉 A Dogs for Autism UK trundl always causes a stir and gets our members out and trundling. Because what's not to love about raising funds for an outstanding training programme that sends 4-legged autism assistance partners out into the community, transforming the lives of people with autism and the families that love them? Dogs for Autism have been a trundl charity since our earliest days and we've loved meeting the team and getting to know them personally too. Similarly, we're extremely proud that OSCAR Pet Foods Ltd are supporting the Dogs for Autism trundls for the 3rd year too. It says a lot about a brand that they show their generous heart in action more than they talk about it, thank you ❤️ If you're a trundlr, do keep walking, because if we smash the target the funds will go up! And if you or your company fancies turning your everyday walks into support for a brilliant cause, do come and join in at any time. #autism #dogsatwork #charitywalk #purposedrivenbusiness

🌈 It may be rather soggy out there, but the good news is that a walk in the rain can actually support our mental health and make us feel happier. Some scientists think this is down to negative ions, which are inhaled after being released when rain hits a hard surface. Rather wonderfully, no one quite knows why this has a positive effect. But, add in the cleaner air that comes after rainfall and the happy smell of petrichor, this all gives us plenty of good reasons to slip on a raincoat, tug on some wellies and go walking. And if you're a trundlr, there is the unique additional boost of knowing you're supporting great causes at the same time. For example, simply by turning on the app and adding your steps to the community total today, you'll be helping create funds for puppies in training with Dogs for Autism UK Happy sloshy trundling 💚 #charitywalk #happiness #purposedrivenbusiness
