Unlocking potential through early intervention
About us
Empowering parents and carers to understand the true nature and potential of their autistic children, and to transform their quality of life. Our aim is to transform perceptions of, and mainstream approaches to, autism worldwide, so that the underlying nature and value of each autistic person is acknowledged and respected, and that meaningful steps are taken to dramatically improve their quality of life. We do this through: - Our written materials (including the book, Transforming Autism, and articles on the website) - Public awareness campaigning and appearances (including a TED talk) about the importance of early diagnosis and intervention - The establishment of a Transforming Autism Mifne clinic for the transformation of the lives of autistic toddlers and support for their carers (target date, 2020) - The creation of a one-stop Hub to provide comprehensive information and guidance to carers - Transitional support to adulthood (eventually), including employment and relationships For more information, please visit our website - http://transformingautism.co.uk

Daphne (85) and her husband Yusef (65) are passionate about supporting the Autism community. with friends and neighbours with young Autistic children and watching them delight despite challenges Daphne finds inspiring. This year they will be fundraising for Transforming Autism, to help us support young families with autistic children. Along with their friend Barbara (71) they will be going on the Zip World Velocity wire, which is the fastest zip line in the world, and the longest in Europe. We are looking to help them raise £3,000 for the charity and would love it if you would help us by clicking this link https://gofund.me/c72b22ff. You can go along and support them in person on 14th August at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry. In December, Transforming Autism will be taking part in the "Big Give", which is an opportunity for us to raise funds for the charity which will be match funded pound for pound. We are endeavouring to raise £25k to enable many more children and families like yours to experience our programs at no cost to them. The great news is that we only have to raise half of that (12.5k) and the Big Give will match what we raise. The fundraising starts by securing pledges of £6,250 (25% of our target), the pledges will not be payable until December. We have already raised £3,250 and need to secure a further £3,000 by 1st August 2024. If you can make a pledge, to support our charity, no matter how big or small the amount, the Big Give will match it. To pledge click this link https://lnkd.in/eB5v_xHJ As always we thank you for your continued support. #TransformingAutism #Autism #AutismFamilies #BigGive #FirstStepsProgram

We are excited to let you know that we are now open for applications to join our Confident Autism Parenting programme (CAP). CAP aims to foster a closer, stronger relationship between parents and their autistic children. It seeks to improve parent's understanding of autism, equip them with practical strategies to manage daily challenges, and increase their overall confidence to independently support their child's development in the future. We will deliver a series of 12 weeekly online workshops. Each session lasts 75 minutes and is led by one of The Transforming Autism Project's most senior therapists and on occasions jointly run with a senior occupational therapist. The "Confident Autism Parenting" workshops are designed with a semi-flexible session structure to provide a responsive and highly personalised experience for each participating family. Recognising that no two families are the same, our approach is not generic; instead, it values and incorporates the unique stories and needs of each family into the programme The next wave of CAP starts on Thursday 19th September at 6 pm (concluding 5th December). The groups are limited to 10 parents/carers and you can register here https://lnkd.in/eQ729WKt Don't worry if you can't make this date, we will be holding more sessions later in the year, so please register so we can keep you informed. #TransformingAutism #Autism #ConfidentAutismParenting #OnlineWorkshops
