Today we’re introducing Becki Burton, our Founder! Becki is a girl about town who knows just about everyone! Her positive attitude and passion for everything she does are truly infectious. A bit about me... 1) My career path: I realised my passion for working with and helping people when I began in retail / fashion customer service. As a creative at heart, the marketing recruitment industry is a perfect fit! I’m now focused on how I can help my clients solve their hiring challenges and candidates win their job search! 2) Proudest achievement? Besides getting married, my proudest achievement is setting up ThePlaceToBe following a couple of tough years personally.   3) Pets: I share my home with 2 cats and a dog (and my husband!). It’s a bit of a madhouse, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!   4) What would people say about me? I’m the life and soul of the party (I take after my Dad!) and that I know everyone 🤣 5) Hardest thing about running a business? As a growing business owner, you wear many hats: from HR and finance to marketing, business development and hands-on recruitment. Balancing the immediate day-to-day priorities with long-term planning is a constant challenge, but I love it! 6) What do I do outside of work? I traded my dancing shoes for holidays and dining out. I LOVE Ynyshir Restaurant and Rooms in Wales and we go every year for our wedding anniversary. Meet the Team, Part 3 😊 Today, we’re introducing Romy Jones our Client Services specialist and the first hire for the team, recently celebrating her 2-year anniversary! I'm a mother of two and an advocate for working mums! My mission is to transform the often misunderstood reputation of recruiters by providing exceptional experiences for both candidates and agencies. It's all about working within the right culture, and I've found my own perfect match at ThePlaceToBe A bit about me... 1) So, why Recruitment? Recruitment was never a path I anticipated taking. However, after spending over a decade in account management within the fashion industry, and being won over by the sparkly Becki Burton, it felt right! 2) What would I tell my younger self? "It’s all part of the journey!"   3) Hobbies: I love the outdoors, live music, dancing, and singing with my kids and husband. I'm also passionate about running for its liberating feeling and post-run dopamine hit.   4) My favourite country? Jag älskar Sverige! I lived in Sweden for two years and it's where my son was born. Sweden remains a staple on my travel agenda, and I never skip a lake dip, no matter the weather. 5) What makes me emotional: The immense pride I feel for my kids.   6) Best part of the job: — Achieving the perfect balance and culture, which I understand first hand and discuss frequently with candidates.   7) Hometown: York! Today, meet Ange Hough, our specialist in Creative & Digital recruitment! I’m a cat mad closet creative who gets excited when a well-crafted, beautifully finessed portfolio arrives in my inbox. Being able to speak to the talented individual behind the work is what I love! A little more about me: 1) Why recruitment? The people, the creatives, and peeking inside all the cool agencies! With my background as a Production/Account Manager in agencies, it was a natural step to blend my skills and knowledge. I love it AND understand it! 2) What scares me? Sweetcorn. Seriously, even the word gives me chills! 😫 3) Favourite pastime? Watching horror movies with my cats and fiancé. 💍 4) What makes me emotional? Freddie Mercury songs. I ADORE him! 🎶 5) Favourite restaurant? Six by Nico – I’ve tried every menu since it opened! 6) Would I change anything about my job? Nope!
