We’re The People Co., an expert team of people consultants, focusing on permanent and interim roles in food and consumer goods. We build strong connections and trusted, long-term relationships with all our clients and candidates and have finely tuned our approach to sourcing and matching candidates to the right role and client. Our client base spans the whole food and consumer goods supply chain and we work with every size and type of business.     According to our recent sustainable materials packaging poll, compostable packaging materials are the clear winner in potentially revolutionise the food and consumer goods industry ♻ 💚 📦 ! Compostable packaging materials are essentially designed to break down through natural processes facilitated by microorganisms, heat, and moisture, without leaving toxic residues. Interestingly, there are many types which have been (are currently being) development including: * Plant-Based Plastics (Bioplastics) -  Made from renewable resources like corn starch, sugarcane, or potato starch. * Paper and Cardboard - Often sourced from recycled paper products and typically treated with compostable coatings to enhance durability and water resistance. * Molded Fiber - Created from recycled paper or agricultural residues, used for packaging items like egg cartons and trays. * Starch-Based Materials - Derived from corn, potato, or other starch-rich plants, these materials can be used to make packaging peanuts, films, and containers. * Bagasse - A byproduct of sugarcane processing, bagasse is used to create containers and packaging that are sturdy and compostable. * Seaweed-Based Materials - Made from seaweed extracts, these materials are emerging as a sustainable option for packaging films and edible packaging. * Mycelium - The root structure of mushrooms, mycelium can be grown into custom shapes and used as protective packaging.
