Predicted ad spend for 2024 is up 📈almost unanimously across all channels. And even though some of this year's boost is down to the Election and the Euros, further increases are predicted for 2025 🥳

Our two finish at lunchtime today (with one of them off to Big School in September 😭 ) and the struggle is real. Working for ourselves means we have the ultimate flexibility but we still feel the pressure of fitting it all in. Hopefully without literally leaving the kids to their own devices 💻. Needless to say, this advice from NABS all rings very true.
How to manage the great summer-holiday juggle - The Media Leader

£200 per week for holiday clubs. 🚸 Over the course of a year, that's over £2,000. Per child. As our children are a little bit older, we're now through the younger years and fortunately our children have no less of a need for holiday clubs. From talking to other parents at the school gate however we can only sympathise with how tough this is - particularly for single parent families.👩👧👦

We've highlighted before the studies done by Stanford professor Nicholas Bloom into the impact of hybrid working. The results have now been published and the headline says it all: 📢"Hybrid working from home improves retention without damaging performance" The findings were that hybrid working leads to: 🟠 A 54% reduction in quit rates for female employees 🟠 No difference in promotions/performance reviews over the next 2 years 🟠 Managers positively updating their views about how hybrid WFH affects productivity

Having worked in recruitment for 20 years, this is the first time I've seen companies so engaged in the election. We've been speaking with several people who have either been told to work from home 🏠 today or have a late start so that everyone can vote. Whoever you want to see in Number 10 next week, make sure you get out and vote ❎

Today's research which is stating the obvious 🙄 comes from a study which shows that Gen Z and Millennials are twice as likely to consider the future in their job roles than Baby Boomers Put another way, people in their 20s-early 40s are more likely to plan for the future of their career than colleagues in their 60s and 70s. Well, I'm shocked! 🤯
Young workers are demanding more from employers

Some valid points from The Stylist on how to punch up your application. 💪 However, much of it can be summarised by remembering that CVs are often read people who have a pile of them to look at (HR, talent teams and recruiters) or are recruiting as an add-on to their day job (hiring managers). Typically therefore, a CV is viewed for a matter of seconds. ⏱️ Make yours easy to read and quickly show the reader why they should want to know more about you. It's the trailer; not the film so highlight your best bits 📝 but leave the reader wanting more.
