We’re going on holiday…🏖️☀️ Okay, we’re not expecting anybody to walk 1,495 miles, but our new DIY fundraising project aims to bring people together to contribute to walking the distance from our Newcastle office to Costa Del Sol (the coast of sunshine…)! For example, if a team of 10 walked 10 miles in total, it would knock 100 miles off the overall destination, and however much they raised would contribute to the total target of £5,000. You can walk wherever you like, at whatever pace you like, whenever you like, but we’d love to see how creative you can get! Thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, we've been able to put on a range of different activities for our Sunshine Families over the summer holidays! ☀ We've got some exciting things lined up and we'll be revealing all in this week's column, which will be published online and in The Chronicle on Friday. 🎉 Our family events allow our community to take part in fun activities and create precious memories in a welcoming environment, where price and access aren't barriers. 🌻 For example, we were very kindly invited to International Centre for Life on Saturday for their 'Spotlight on... Our Earth' day. We took 41 individuals to enjoy a day out where they could explore the centre at their own leisure, speak to real-life scientists and see all the new features and additions they've made, including their new planetarium show, 'Earth Defenders'. 🌎🚀🌠 Our families had a great time and what a perfect way to shelter from the rain! A huge thank you to David Jones and his team for inviting us along. 💛 #NationalLottery #NationalLotteryCommunityFund
