This experience allowed him to demonstrate his exceptional skills and problem-solving abilities. We’re delighted to welcome Ben Tyrrell to our team as our new Graduate Broadcast Systems Engineer. Ben joins us with an impressive background, having served on the sixth form debate society board and has demonstrated a passion for knowledge and innovation. He studied economics at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands where he authored a thesis on economic deprivation and political polarisation. Additionally, his academic journey took him to study Artificial Intelligence at the University of St Andrews, where he developed a cryptocurrency market prediction tool as part of his dissertation project. We are pleased to announce our first new graduate to the team this year is Rebecca C. Johnson. Having recently graduated from Solent University, she joins us as a Graduate Engineer. While at uni, she took up the role of Head of Video at SonarEvents, a TV and Live Events society run completely by students. She was involved in their National Student Television Awards (NaSTA for short) and has just completed an NEP training scheme for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships. Yesterday, our team came into our Bracknell HQ for an all-hands meeting to celebrate our achievements over the past year and to set our sights on the year ahead. We are so proud to have a widely distributed team at Techex, so it means so much to bring everyone together to celebrate our successes. Last week we took the #IBCAccelerators2024 CAPA project to the #EBU Network Technology Seminar where we demonstrated using public cloud to automatically deploy software on-prem and in the cloud asking what this might mean for #OutsideBroadcast / #REMI trucks particularly when there is limited connectivity. The Connect and Produce Anywhere (CAPA) Phase II project deployed two video workflows plus software audio mixing onto an on-prem Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) cluster at Techex HQ, controlled from Geneva. With a full video production suite from Vizrt, we could demonstrate remote vision mixing and software audio mixing from #LAMA. id3as's #Norsk provided container-based real-time transcoding and graphics insertion controlled by API using a TSL control panel. We're really pleased to be actively exploring software-defined workflows with champions BT Media and Broadcast, BBC, Channel 4, Sky #Sports, European Broadcasting Union (EBU), #TV2 and Vodafone at a time when the industry as a whole is looking closely at finding the best way to deploy this technology.
