Meet the Minds behind your Designs | John Mellon   We are thrilled to present the next feature in our "Meet the Minds" series, highlighting the final 10 members. This week, we are delighted to introduce John Mellon, Design Technician. John's passion for technology and design began in his school years, inspiring him to pursue a degree in architecture. After gaining valuable experience at an architectural practice, he joined our team two years ago. Since then, John has become an asset to our design team, consistently delivering high quality work and fulfilling our clients' design needs on every project.

Charlotte brings a wealth of experience in design. Meet the Minds behind your Designs | Eugene McNicholl   Eugene McNicholl is this weeks featured team member for our Meet the Minds behind your Designs series. Eugene has an impressive 36 years of experience within the joinery industry and has been a valued part of our company for many years. Eugene’s journey began with 8 years as a site joiner, followed by 28 years in a workshop environment and over the years, he has held various roles, including site foreman, bench joiner, team leader, design technician, and now design manager. Eugene consistently ensures that his team collaborates effectively to meet and exceed our clients' expectations and has been involved in numerous prestigious projects across a number of sectors such as Sony, Rolls Royce, and Grangegorman. 

Building Awards 2024 | We Are Finalists We are thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted as finalists in the ‘Specialist Contractor of the Year’ category at the @Building Awards, hosted by Building Magazine. We are delighted be recognised for our contributions within the industry, and we look forward to attending the awards on the 5th of November. Congratulations to all the other finalists!

Practicing Local and Global Sustainability | Our Path to a Greener Future We recently shared our sustainability journey with Mix Interiors, highlighting our efforts on our environmental journey that began in 1990.  Since then our net zero journey has continued and our current emission reduction sits at 64%, with a goal to become carbon neutral by 2026. In order to achieve our target, this involves significant investment and operational change;  the switch to onsite wind and solar generated power, a full transition to electric vehicles and the decarbonisation of fleet. An ambitious target, but one the company is ready to invest in. Ciaran O’Hagan, Group MD explains, “Sustainability for us as a business is more than protecting our planet. It’s protecting and developing our people; helping those in society less fortunate than ourselves, enhancing the communities in which we live and ultimately providing a positive future on a planet where our children can thrive.” Corporate Social Responsibility is at the core of our values, embraced by our entire team. 2023 marked our biggest year for giving back; raising over £250,000 for a diverse range of charity organisations. Our commitment to community development is evident through our partnerships with inspiring projects, such as our collaboration with the Woodland Trust and Mix Interiors, where we plant a tree for  every guest in attendance at every Mix Awards event since 2021.

Meet the Minds behind your Designs | Michael Murphy This week we are introducing Michael Murphy, Design Manager. Michael joined Specialist in 1994 and after a short period elsewhere, re-joined the company in 2014.  Over the years, he has progressed from a workshop joiner, acquiring extensive experience across various areas of our business, to his current role as Design Manager. Michael is passionate about assisting our clients to transform their visions into reality and ensure that we as a team delivery quality products.

We are thrilled to support "FOUND," a collaborative exhibition showcasing the works of Sarah Bryan, fleur peck, and Kate Vine. The show is running to Friday 12th July, if you are in London call into the ladies for a visit and to see their wonderful creativity and talent.
