Seacat Services operate a fleet of IACS classified multi-purpose offshore energy support vessels and are looking for an additional Vessel Superintendent to join the team. As a Vessel Superintendent, you are responsible for the smooth delivery of charters across a group of vessels within our fleet, this requires working with our crews, vessels and customers to ensure a safe and effective service is supplied. The Vessel Superintendent role is a full time (not rotation) position and involves regular travel to site to inspect vessels and to meet with the crew and customers.  Occasional visits to the office in Cowes are also required from time to time. Ideally, you will hold a CoC (min MCA Master 200gt) or be close to being issued with one, preferably with experience in the role of Master in the offshore wind industry.   This is an exciting and varied role. Salary dependent on experience and qualifications held. Responsibilities include:  Providing support to our crew in their daily operation:  Ensuring vessels are fully certified according to statutory requirements  Overseeing vessel performance Liaising with charterers/customers  Overseeing the delivery of the training and familiarisation of our crew to ensure working within the safe capabilities of the vessel Supporting the technical department & vessel in maintenance to minimise downtime Follow-up on KPIs  Mobilising vessels to new contracts Provide support 24/7 to our vessels and crew as required by being part of the ‘On-Call Person’ roster The ideal candidate will:  Be good at working within a team and motivating vessel crew  Be an excellent communicator  Be proactive, flexible and motivated to find solutions to emergent challenges Have experience in offshore renewables and smaller vessels Ideally hold seagoing experience as Deck Officer or Master in the windfarm industry Be able to travel to assigned vessels on regular basis  Have experience of working within the requirements of a Safety Management System Be familiar with working within ISO 9001, 14001 and/or 45001 environments https://lnkd.in/eK7Yxzjx

As 2023 draws to a close, we’d like to take a moment to reflect on some of the achievements, market developments, and challenges that have defined yet another year of success at Seacat.   On the books, 2023 has been our strongest year since 2014, when there was a real spike in demand for offshore wind vessels. With the market back under us, rates have gone up to counteract some of the inflation that has been occurring over the last few years. Tendering is happening earlier, and a ‘partnership approach’ is increasingly being adopted by our customer base.   At the shipyard, we made new friends, working with Mainstay Marine Solutions Marine on a new Chartwell Ambitious despite the challenges facing the domestic industry. Some ongoing problems with the Shipbuilding Credit Guarantee Scheme aside, we’re keen to see where it leads.   Across the team, we were honoured to receive the National Maritime SME Award for Maritime Sustainability Team of the Year, recognising the fantastic work we do to decarbonise with our partners. On the skills and development front, our apprentices have all qualified, with a new batch well on the way.    All that said, here are a couple of reasons to be optimistic going into 2024:   With new wind farms set to begin development across the country, the calendar for maritime construction and O&M support is set to fill quickly going into 2024. There are now more opportunities than ever before for offshore wind’s auxiliary sectors to flourish.   The UK’s upcoming Allocation Round 6 CfD auctions are a fantastic bounce back from the mismanaged Round 5. With strike prices high, we can expect to see developers boast bigger budgets for green technology and quality vessel support.   For now, though, we wish you a merry Christmas, and a happy new year — see you on the other side!

Not a normal day’s work for Seacat Reliance -- in fact, quite the opposite!   We pride ourselves on our fleet’s fundamental ability to provide a smooth ride for seafarers, minimising seasickness. But this week, she deliberately went head-on into challenging conditions to push the limits as much as possible.   We’re glad to have supported BAE Systems on this study, providing vital research that will feed into improvements in safety, comfort, and welfare for passengers and crew.   At Seacat, we commit immense resources to continually improve vessel stability, bringing military-grade speed, sturdiness, and innovative technology to the table to ensure our technicians arrive on-site safe and ready to work.   Looking forward to hearing the key takeaways from Rotterdam next week.   #maritime #offshorewind #seafarers #safety

Enthusiasm for electrification in the wider renewables industry doesn’t quite line up with its practical applications for CTV operators as we race to reach ambitious decarbonisation targets in a relatively short time frame.   Many forms of alternative propulsion, and especially full electric, require considerable investment, port and offshore infrastructure to be fully viable.
