⚠ Mass Worldwide IT Outage ⚠ We in the UK awoke this morning to news of a huge IT outage, impacting air transport, banks and media worldwide, with knock-on effects on other businesses as well. From New Zealand via India to the US, businesses are reporting disruption to their operations. At this stage, the cause is unknown. Whether the outage is due to a technical failure or something more malign remains unclear. Regardless, for those organisations affected this is a cyber incident hampering significantly their ability to deliver for their customers. This is a stark reminder, if we needed it, of organisations’ reliance on complex supply chains, digital as much as physical, and the impact a cyber incident on business continuity. It is also a reminder of the importance of investing in resilience through preparedness.
