It's was a truly amazing experience to speak at EVA about my recent published paper 'A technological approach to wellbeing in the music industry' but what do I mean by this bold statement. As 'sonic promting' becomes more apparent and music real estate values plummet on the stock market of streaming services. Artists are feeling the pinch become a needle prick of financial stability within in a career of music. For the last 10 years my work in music has revolved around finding methods in creative practice to become more task positive, less stressed and more productive. From using endo-technologies that include: Breathwork, Yoga, Cardio fitness, Meditation, Cold water exposure and mindfulness we can seek 'creativity from within'. To cyberdelics: stroboscopic light, isochronic tones and haptic feedback. What if? musicians had alternative routes and options, where a 'holotechnica' system could support change by stacking these modalities and becoming certified practitioners of light, sound and vibration combining endo-technologies, not only can it benefit the musicians themselves, it can also benefit their fan base, management and the general public. Music from the mind for the mind. We are in the beta testing stage of realtime control of the Roxiva Innovations LTD RX1 using Ableton Live 12, Audeze headphones and the SUBPAC for fully immersive experiences, combined with max for live plugins from Isotonik Studios Ltd and IRCAM SPAT for spatialisation and musicification. Starting the week off with a bang ! We have waited patiently for this body of work to arrive and we are so pleased to now share Gavin Lawson's published paper. Use of our RX1 will take on a whole new level of creativity, for the creatives, allowing for a deeper understanding of brainwave states and how to marry this with live music. I'm very pleased to finally share my research paper. 'A technological approach to wellbeing in the music industry' I have been composing music for stroboscopic light sessions for the last 3 years and have been an employee of Roxiva for the last 12 months. The paper is very close to my heart as I have seen first hand the detrimental effects of working in the music industry from depression to pharmaceutical intervention. The toolset in the paper including the Roxiva RX1, Ableton Live and Max for live can help musicians develop ways to combat stress and anxiety, making music from the mind for the mind. I also see this as a path to becoming a practitioner in sound and light going beyond performance, spotify and the imminent threat of AI music. We are developing realtime control of the RX1 with a VST and AU plugin that will work in all music DAW software, this will allow musicians to develop sessions synchronised to music, a new methodology going beyond the current model and moving further into the creative realm.
