GEEP | Sharing a world of opportunity     RLB’s Global Experience Exchange Programme (GEEP) offers the chance for RLB employees to undertake a month-long secondment to share and exchange knowledge with global colleagues.    We are pleased to have Alex Muir from the RLB Melbourne office join our London office this month.     “Since joining as an undergraduate Quantity Surveyor in the Melbourne office in 2019, I have worked across multiple sectors including small and large scale residential, commercial, retail and public precincts. This has involved both pre-contract and post-contract services, including preparation of cost plans, value engineering, tender reviews and valuations.     I am extremely excited to broaden my skill set and gain exposure to a different working culture. I look forward to bringing home new insights, relationships and knowledge from both the RLB London office and the wider construction industry.”    #RLB #GEEP #CreatingABetterTomorrow

RLB first hosted University of Hawaii on their Asian Field Study trip at our Shanghai office about six years ago and recently reconnected through our Honolulu office.   Yesterday, we were delighted to host Benjamin Bystrom and the MBA students from the Shidler College of Business at our Singapore office, where we had an engaging discussion on the local Built Environment.   We wish the group a fruitful journey as they continue onto other ASEAN nations! Thank you Silas and Wan Ding for hosting them!

Creating a better tomorrow | RLB launches new embodied carbon services RLB has launched a new global carbon calculation service, utilising global data from across its worldwide business to support clients with carbon quantification and net zero strategies to realise their carbon goals.    With embodied carbon emissions expected to account for 50% of all emissions in new construction up to 2050, the new RLB sustainability service will provide clients with carbon measurement and decarbonisation planning across the whole building life cycle.    Heather Evans, Global Chair of RLB’s Sustainability Committee, commented, “We know that buildings are responsible for 39% of global carbon emissions, and therefore as an industry we can make a massive difference to global warming and global net zero ambitions. However, to be able to make this difference we need to measure, benchmark and implement strategies to reduce our carbon emissions. This new service offering allows us to combine our cost management expertise and sustainability knowledge with RLB’s global, independent data to support clients wherever they are in their carbon journey and achieve their sustainability goals.”    The new service offering, which follows the global RICS WLCA V2 methodology and is applicable to all regions, sectors and projects, can help you meet your embodied carbon and wider sustainability targets.  Read more about our service offering here: https://lnkd.in/e4jt-RES  If you would like to discuss how we can help you on your sustainability journey, please get in touch and let’s start a conversation sustainability@uk.rlb.com  #EmodiedCarbon #Carbon #NetZero #Sustainability #RLB #CreatingABetterTomorrow
