DJ Mag - "The dance doc of the year" BFI - "A profoundly moving tale of hard beats, heavy living, ecstasy and the continuing legacy" Just some of the kind words from critics who've seen our film Don't Ever Stop. Last week we screened it to fans at The Light in Sheffield where for the first time we had an audience member spot themselves in the clubbing footage from 25 years ago (or at least the first person to admit it anyway). Next up is Glasgow Film Theatre on August 4 with a special Q and A with Fergie - one of the stars of the film. Tickets here - https://lnkd.in/eW3Yyghc Then on August 22 we're back by popular demand at HOME in Manchester. The last showing in May sold out so get your tickets quickly here - https://lnkd.in/eYb2ANAY We've got more shows in the works for autumn. It's always a thrill to see your film on the big screen so thanks to everyone who's supported us Doc'n Roll Films Colm Forde Vanessa Lobon Garcia Laura Norton-Hand Tidy Trax and many more.

There are road trips. And then there are ROAD TRIPS. Our Restless Films team have been telling the story of Stuart McBain and his journey around the entire coast of Australia - using as much solar energy as he could. Stuart drove 16,000kms in a three month journey to demonstrate the importance of climate change and alternative energy - powered as much as possible by solar energy. Along the way he was faced with floods, tornados and soaring temperatures. He also met some amazing people who are part of the film. It was almost as challenging for us to produce this feature documentary - using a mix of Australian camera crews around the country, equipping Stuart and his colleague Thilo with a small kit, and sending staff from the UK to film parts of the journey. The end result was Charge Around Australia, which gets its Australian premiere from July 1 at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival. You can book tickets (only if you're in Australia) here - https://lnkd.in/eYMkjZez Thanks to everyone who helped us - Thilo Kober Roz Hughes Nicky Mailey Bridgette Doyle Paul Dastoor Brijesh Patel Tim Collings Bonnie Porter Greene Ben Vaughan Kristen McDonald Krishna Sen Kingsley Haxton Ben Broady Rhys Jones Anita Harvey (hope we haven't forgotten anyone)

From filming in our swimming shorts in Lake Como, to braving the wind and rain in Cork, this has been quite an adventure. This week sees the launch of a series that's been filmed over six months, in five different countries, with one key message: The life-changing power of sport. Restless Films was commissioned by Special Olympics Europe Eurasia to make a series on the legacy of the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 We featured the amazing stories of Anita, Bradley, Tamara, Sarah, Trudy and Andrea - just six of the thousands of athletes who lit up the Games in Berlin. But more importantly - six athletes who used that experience to improve their lives. The series launched this week across social media. We made every film in three sizes with different edits and durations for different platforms, created bespoke, longer TV edits for broadcasters in Italy and Germany, provided b-roll and clips for news agencies across Europe - oh and all in four separate languages! Big thanks to Hernán Goldzycher Aoife O'Grady Silvia Cassina David Evangelista and the team for trusting us with the project. Here's a link to watch the series - https://lnkd.in/eNDzq7pW

This weekend was a dream come true as our film "Don't Ever Stop" graced the screen at the iconic BFI Southbank for the BFI Flare Festival, the biggest LGBTQIA+ film festival in the UK. It was an absolute honour to present our film and meet the audience for a Q&A, to follow in the footsteps of film legends such as Quentin Tarantino and Helena Bonham Carter who had done the same at this amazing venue in the past. We were delighted to have been officially selected by the BFI from over 750 hopeful films to feature in this years event. Thanks so much for the support of the great people at British Film Institute (BFI) especially Flare programmers Brian Robinson and Kristy Matheson. Thank you to everyone who supported us on this incredible journey! 🙌 #BFIFlare #ProudMoment #FilmFestival

IRELAND & LONDON CALLING | It’s great to be in more cinemas and for the first time ever an Irish screening of our film “Don’t Ever Stop”. Tony and his protege Fergie have a huge Irish fan base and it has been lovely to be able to take the film to those audiences. We also have some very exciting news about where the film goes next to share later this week! #tonydevitfilm #independentfilmmaking

Sometimes a story is too good to ignore. This is one of those. We've been busy at Restless Films with plenty of recent projects for Special Olympics Europe Eurasia - this was one of our favourites. We visited Special Olympics Iceland to make a separate film about a great project across Europe but the amazing story of Haukar SO Basketball Team and what they're doing for children with intellectual disabilities captured our imagination. They started the ONLY basketball team for children with learning disabilities in Iceland. So we made this about the team and their journey! Thanks to the wonderful people we spoke to in Iceland and of course Silvia Cassina David Evangelista Hernán Goldzycher Colin Kenny for their support. #IDPD2023 #EBW2023 #independentfilm

I've literally just finished watching the advance screener of 'Dont Ever Stop'....four pages of notes, endless tears and laughter later Levels of excitement/nerves/honour are high around hosting a Q&A with director Stuart Pollitt, producer Phill Smith, and Sundisessential promoter Madders after the 1800 sold out screening at the Mockingbird Cinema Birmingham tomorrow night for Doc'n Roll Films. Tony's story is genuinely beautiful and moving, his contribution to electronic music immeasurable, and his influence on club culture unmistakable. This film and an official blue plaque at The Custard Factory in Digbeth is, hopefully, just the start of this city stepping up its recognition of those who grafted hard and paved the way for current and future generations of music fans and professionals.
