About us

Established in 2015, Rat & Boa is the brainchild of friends Valentina Muntoni and Stephanie Bennett. Championing the essence of duality, Rat & Boa is more than a fashion label; it's a celebration of femininity and individuality. With an unwavering focus on women, the designs stand as timeless pieces crafted to elevate every moment of dressing up. Born from a friendship of two distinct aesthetics and a shared desire to create unique pieces, Rat & Boa is a celebration of nostalgic glamour with a modern twist. Each collection tells its own story, interwoven with vivid signature prints, silhouettes and tones. Driven by continued inspiration, we continue to grow, building our Rat and Boa world and exploring new challenges. Rat and Boa have plans to branch into new categories over the coming year, growing into a fully-fledged fashion house. Join us on our journey as we continue to grow, year-on-year. Welcome to the world of Rat & Boa.

Rat and Boa 3 peaks challenge fundraiser for The Cycle. As a female-founded, female-led brand, the welfare of women resonates strongly with us at Rat & Boa. In 2023, we started a partnership with The Cycle, a brilliant organisation committed to providing safe and sustainable WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) services and improved menstrual health education to communities in India - all of which are key to building gender equality. We’ve decided to take on the challenge of climbing the three highest peaks in the UK in 24-hours to raise money for The Cycle’s Happy Periods Program. Please help us to support this incredibly important cause by donating. You can find out more about The Cycle’s work here - https://www.thecycle.world This month, 1.8 billion people across the world will menstruate - nearly a quarter of the world’s population. But for millions of people, managing their period is an impossible struggle. Menstrual taboos, lack of toilets and little or no access to period products mean that, for many, periods spell disaster - holding them back from education, public life, and trapping them in a cycle of inequality. The Cycle's award-winning Happy Periods Programme is a fully inclusive programme challenging menstrual taboos, providing sustainable period products and establishing excellent menstrual and sexual health literacy for vulnerable communities. By engaging with everyone, regardless of age or gender, their work transforms entire communities and creates environments where everyone can thrive. With £25,000, The Cycle can bring their Happy Periods programme to an incredible 1000 people and help unleash the true power of women & girls. Help us reach our target, https://lnkd.in/dTqc5Sby

The Sustainability Report Read our 2023 updates When we published our sustainability report for the first time last year, we held our breath. It was brutal and transparent in equal measure, and we had no idea how our community would respond. Nevertheless, we felt compelled to demonstrate accountability and an appetite for change, and we needn't have worried - our findings were met with support, and sparked interesting conversations with customers and suppliers wanting to know more. This year, Rat & Boa's commitment to sustainability feels more necessary than ever. We’ve measured our progress to date, and set ourselves even more challenging goals for the year to come. From production to head office, we’re committed to a journey of learning, to responsible practices, and to pursuing sustainability as a brand. Read the full report at https://lnkd.in/dqHBmgNB 💚
