Our Quattro ‘One Horse Power’ horse drawn carriage expertly driven by Donna - who looks exquisite today - with Quattro MD John Murphy in the passenger seat and Head of Corporate Strategy Bob Browning riding in the back. The carriage is led by Tom, a magnificent Irish cob, who has belonged to Donna and her sister since he was two years old, and is now fourteen. The One Horse Power carriage is Quattro’s much loved and special entry today. 2. The Quattro people transporter. Seats 14 people, travels on road or rail, can be used to transport a team or equipment to remote rail sites. A challenging job which threw up some unsuspected obstacles but we got there in the end achieving a High Speed Handback with no accidents or incidents. SRSA Bristol undertook Cattybrook alongside the Seven Tunnel blockade. A Plain Line re-newal on the Down Tunnel ELR-BSW near Pilning Station (Bristol). 990 yds, 150mm excavation with spoil removed by a D4 Dozer, Tracked 7t Dumper and 2 Komatsu 140 Tracked RRVs. Track was installed using the Balfour Beatty NTC Train, and 5 trains onsite in total including 2 Autoballaster's and 1 Colas Rail Tamper. We scrapped out in 20ft panels removed by 2 Doosan 270 Ultimas and broken down and loose loaded into a train with 2 more Doosans all over approx 80hrs consisting of New Cen 60 CWR, G44 sleepers (650 spacing), 4 Composite Pan 11s at the transition into exsisting Steels, 5 x Cms sleepers and 2x 60ft Cen 56 Transition Rails. The job presented many obstacles due to its single line layout with the Up Tunnel being on a 10 to 15m higher level throughout the extent and the hot temperatures over the last few 2 days but we got there in the end handing back with not 1 accident or incident over the week. Thanks to everyone from the Bristol depot who helped out on this one, plus all the manpower who really stepped up when required and did us proud over the week. Special mention also to the Quattro Plant Hire staff who were superb from start to finish and who's Plant Operated faultlessly over the week with not 1 breakdown onsite. Fantastic initiative - really impressive! Severn Partnership
The numbers speak for themselves. Our approach to rail asset location is aimed at streamlining data collection, reducing site time and improving personnel safety. On a recent project for a tier one contractor, we partnered with Quattro Plant Ltd to collect data on the rail infrastructure's hidden assets and culverts. By utilising our multi-channel GPR system, the Stream UP, and mounting on a Road Rail Vehicle (RRV), our team were able to collect data 12 times quicker than if completed manually. TODAY: HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUATTRO - 35! 🥂 On Wednesday 3rd July 2024, Quattro Plant Ltd celebrates its 35th year in business. In this short film, taken from footage shot for a special programme on Sky TV, we take a look to the past: How the company got started in 1989 as a road sweeping venture that later expanded into rail, becoming one of the biggest rail infrastructure organisations in the UK. We reflect on the present: At 35, Quattro has 750 employees with 15 depots across the UK serving hundreds of customers with a variety of needs for specialist machines and expertise. We also offer operator training at any of our five bespoke training academy sites. We look towards our future: We are taking steps to transform our fleet from diesel to electric, facing challenges and leaping hurdles in an effort to half our emissions by 2030. We have made good progress towards our sustainability goals, already reducing our company emissions by 11% to date across rail, road and construction sectors.
