⭐Last week we welcomed 216 school students to our offices across the UK, for our New World New Skills programme, which is all about upskilling the next generation of talent. Nearly 400 of our people volunteered throughout the week, taking the time to speak to the students about their own career journeys, the world of business, and learn more about the student’s aspirations and goals. Among our volunteers was Khadija Ismail, who participated in the programme two years ago. After joining our firm through the school leaver programme, she is now a Management Consulting Apprentice. In this video, Khadija reflects on her experience as a student in the programme and explains why she chose to return as a volunteer to give back. Over the past four years, we’ve collectively supported over 1000 students through our work experience initiatives. It’s all about supporting bright young minds, no matter their socioeconomic background, to thrive. #SocialMobility #WorkExperience

In 2024 we celebrate our 175th anniversary. We are shining a spotlight on some of our PwC people and alumni and how they have shaped and contributed to PwC’s history. Jan Morgan was at PwC from 2004 to 2008. After she left PwC she suffered a life changing stroke, but overcame her consequent disability by focusing on what could be done as opposed to what could not. Jan is still in touch with her colleagues and states that their encouragement was instrumental to her recovery. During her time in the firm she was a management consultant working across education, skills and defence. Jan was a specialist in transformational change through technologies, developing her focus in e-learning and skills. Intrigued by our history? Find out more in the comments below ⬇️ #Consulting #Transformation #Careers #PwC

The first stage in our More London refresh is complete. Like all of our building projects, our approach has been informed by the very people that use the space, as well as our own workplace analysis. Once complete the remodel will: 🚌 Free up space equivalent to 100 double decker buses 🤝 Increase the number of meeting rooms across floors by 9% ⚖️ Have a more even balance of desks, meeting spaces and social areas. Our offices are an important part of our culture, working together and learning from each other is integral to the way we work.

Absolutely love the new PwC UK More London office layout that were coming into this morning. One of my favourite things about this remodeling is that the real estate and design teams simply ‘ASKED’ people what they needed. This included Neurodiverse design thinking sessions and continually gathering feedback. Its sleek, feels really calming and I’m really excited to have access to a ‘Focus Area’ which aims to reduce noise distraction 🎉. There are real plants throughout with loads of little hide aways fed with natural light that I’m sure will really help get your mind back on track. Enhanced room technology with multiple ways to use and interact with it, something I’m really pleased to see is the improvements in colour contrast for our meeting room names. Other improvements - Only a single cable needed to charge your laptop and display content on a screen - Larger more versatile monitors that support portrait and landscape - More availability of sit stand desks - Increased amount of meeting rooms - More individual sound proofed booths - Smaller meeting spaces for 1-2-1 - More accessible room layouts - A more neutral colour scheme I love grey! All delivered with a full change management team who provided clear, digitally accessible updates to reduce anxiety and stress. Best get some work done now… #PwCProud #PwC #Productivity #Valued #Enable #Inclusion #Neurodiversity #Workplace

Our latest economic research highlights a concerning trend in the UK labour market: a significant rise in economic inactivity among young people, driven in many cases by long-term mental health conditions. Key points include: 📌Of young people aged 18 - 24 who are employed, a third (33%) say they are facing greater mental health challenges since the COVID-19 pandemic, than before it. 📌Only a third feel that employers provide the right support for their mental wellbeing at work, compared to nearly half (46%) of all age groups 📌Inactivity is becoming a long-term trend - one in five people of working age are neither employed nor actively seeking a job, with young people accounting for nearly a third of this rise. Understanding and addressing these challenges is crucial for fostering a healthy, productive workforce. Katie Johnston, our public sector partner, warns: “Unless this gap can be closed through joined up support across central and local government, health and education providers, and employers, it is hard to see how rates of economic inactivity can be reduced.” To find out more about the UK’s economic outlook and potential solutions, read our latest report. The link is in the comments section. #IndustrialStrategy #MentalHealth #Workforce
