How important is AI to CFOs? A recent survey conducted by PYMNTS asked this exact question to CFOs at businesses generating more than $1 billion annually - and the results were telling. The research found that only 17% of enterprise firms run their source-to-pay cycle largely free of human involvement, meaning 83% rely on manual processes. Inefficiencies such as this can result in a delayed and complicated payment infrastructure, leading to suppliers having their cash flow seriously hindered. Luckily, 78% of those surveyed said their access to AI technology is very or extremely important, demonstrating a clear pickup in the technology. Previse’s SmartPay leverages AI technology and smart data to make the payment cycle more efficient, getting suppliers paid as early as day one, bolstering cash flow. “Thousands of buyers have said that they love virtual cards and yet very few suppliers are willing to accept them despite the fact that they are really good products. It’s obvious to see where the system is failing. It’s supplier acceptance.” In an interview with PYMNTS’ Karen Webster, our CEO Paul Christensen explains why, despite the efficiency, transparency and certainty benefits virtual cards offer, uptake has been slow due to issuers, acquirers and networks not yet having the tools to improve the value proposition of virtual cards. Paul explains how the issuers, acquirers and networks can leverage machine learning to get granular insights into the suppliers and buyers to create bespoke offers which are attractive enough for the suppliers to accept virtual cards. Check out the full conversation below. #B2Bpayments #technology #innovation #data #AI #virtualcards #commercialcards
