Now the Pip Decks library has grown and can help you tell better stories, be a better manager, run better businesses or build better products. 100,000 people across the globe use Pip Decks every day. Educational Leader 💡 | Facilitator 🤝 | Visible Thinker 🧠

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺: 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 As a former school leader, I've had the privilege of hosting numerous meetings and workshops—an aspect of the job I truly love. Over the years, I’ve discovered that the key components to a successful workshop are preparation, engagement, and clear outcomes. These elements ensure participants leave feeling inspired and equipped with actionable insights. I'm currently preparing for an upcoming workshop with JobCloud SA | jobup.ch - jobs.ch, where my focus is on crafting a bespoke experience tailored to our team's needs. To achieve this, I draw inspiration from Pip Decks, which help structure my thinking and ensure the session remains dynamic and impactful. While I don’t rely solely on Pip Decks, these cards serve as a valuable tool in sparking creativity and keeping my approach fresh. Each workshop is a unique opportunity to connect and inspire, and I’m committed to delivering an experience that resonates with all participants. What are your go-to tools for workshop facilitation? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences! #workshopfacilitation #leadership #learninganddevelopment

Feeling overwhelmed by group decision-making? Pros and cons list not cutting it? Try Force-Field Analysis, this week's card of the week, to help your team have productive discussions that lead to a clear-cut outcome. 1. Write down the decision you need to make. 2. List all the forces that support the change being positive. For example, saving money, improved customer experience, etc. 3. List all the forces against this change. For example, will divert resources from other projects, clashes with an existing test you're running, etc. 4. Assign each 'force' a score based on how much of an impact it will have on your team. Do this as a group, and discuss any discrepancies in how you assign scores. (This is where you'll find gold.) 5. Add up the scores for each side – highest score, wins! 💡 An extra tip? At the start, get everyone to agree that if the outcome is not what they want, they'll 'disagree, but comply'. This is a healthy way to ensure dissenting voices are heard, but that ultimately everyone's effort goes into making the decision successful. This week's #PipCOTW is a short form of Force-Field Analysis from Team Tactics. #Teamwork #ManagementSkills #LinkedInTips

Want to see how your new prototype will go down with users? Find out if they truly understand your work with a 'Huh?' Test, our card of the week! This tactic gives you a sneak peek into the mind of someone experiencing your work for the first time. ▶️ Book some time with someone unfamiliar with your project (a potential customer, if possible). ▶️ Describe a scenario where they might encounter your work, then show it to them without any further explanation. ▶️ Observe their reaction and ask them to narrate their thoughts. ▶️ Record any emotional responses you see — are they confused, interested or surprised? Ask open-ended questions to gain deeper insights: "What went through your mind when you saw that?". ▶️ Revise your work based on this feedback and repeat the test until everyone gets it. We love this tactic so much that we run regular 'Huh?' Tests with customers to make sure our new designs work before they go into production. This week's #PipCOTW is a short form of ‘Huh?’ Test from Innovation Tactics. #Innovation #LinkedInTips.

I finally splurged on all the Pip Decks, and I don’t regret it one bit! These decks are full of great tips and ideas that have already started making a difference for me. Living just 500 feet from the beach has its perks. Today, during my late lunch break, I took a 20-minute break for some vitamin D, meditation, and reflection. It was a perfect moment to think about new team tactics to better support my team on the ground. It's really important to me that my team is not only engaged but also passionate about what they do. I'm always looking for ways to become a better coach and enabler for them. Pip Decks have given me some fresh perspectives on how to achieve this. Here is a photo from my beachside brainstorming session. Work and relaxation can mix pretty well sometimes. 🌊☀️ #WorkLifeBalance #TeamTactics #Mindfulness #BeachLife #Leadership #Coaching

Struggling to generate novel ideas/solutions? Make it fun and encourage creativity with Reverse Brainstorm, our card of the week. Reverse Brainstorm flips conventional idea generation on its head by asking your team to generate the worst possible ideas. ▶️ Start with a clear problem, framed as a 'How might we...?' question. For example 'How might we make our blog interesting to a range of potential customers?' ▶️ Think of ways to achieve the opposite effect: 'How might we make our blog unappealing to as many potential customers as possible?' ▶️ Write down as many answers to your reversed question as possible. For example 'Writing really biased articles that heavily favour one perspective.' ▶️ Flip each negative idea into a positive solution. 'Featuring a diverse range of voices and opinions, such as guest blogs from people in adjacent industries'. By exploring opposites, you’ll often find effective new approaches for tackling your original problem. This week's #PipCOTW is a short form of Reverse Brainstorm from Workshop Tactics. #Workshops #Facilitation #LinkedInTips

Author of Storyteller Tactics: ditch dull presentations, tell great stories.

Three years ago, we were putting the final touches to the Storyteller Tactics Kickstarter bid. No product, no customers, just an idea. Today, I replied to the 150,000th message* on our customer Slack channel. Nice work 🎴 Charles Burdett. *Those messages aren't all about Storyteller Tactics - we've got a vibrant community of almost 20,000 customers talking about Strategy, Team, Workshop, Productivity, Brand and Innovation Tactics too. Stumped by a complex system or process at work? Build a model to help you understand it with Mystery Machine, our card of the week! The 'Mystery Machine' tactic is your go-to method for getting a clear view of what’s going on 'behind the scenes' in a system or process. You'll build a simplified model to understand how it works, identify what’s wrong, and fix it. ▶️ Pick a challenging process or department that’s hard to understand. Think of it as a ‘mystery machine’ with inputs and outputs. ▶️ Write down what goes into this process (inputs) and what comes out (outputs). ▶️ State the machine’s purpose clearly: “This machine turns [inputs] into [outputs].” ▶️ Imagine opening this machine to see its moving parts. List all the activities, technologies, skills, and data involved in making it work. And there you have it - a model of your 'mystery machine. Keep it handy to guide your discussions and troubleshooting. A simple example might be a machine that turns warm leads (inputs) into closed deals and revenue (outputs). Inside the machine you'll discover sales skills, marketing materials, data analysis or previous deals etc. Understanding these components can help identify where leads are dropping off and improve conversion rates. This week's #PipCOTW is a short form of Mystery Machine from Strategy Tactics. #Strategy #LinkedInTips

Cool highlight from last week at UX London: workshopping innovation tactics with Tom Kerwin! Usually, when we try to innovate, the process of deciding what to do us exceptionally hard, but *the process IS the thing*. "Changes in process are 10x as profitable as changes in product etc" - Bill Buxton. Tom's boiled down methods into cards that make it easy to think beyond our usual habits of process - and that's where the real wins are. Here's Tom talking about how to sneak in some new methods to product development: https://lnkd.in/ecdTMXiv And here's his deck (10% off!): https://lnkd.in/ezstSVYB - highly recommended!
