More greenwash from this company. Oil palm plantations are the source of huge biodiversity losses and have destroyed not only rainforests and killed everything that lives there, but the cause of displacement and destruction of communities living and depending on the rainforest, the creation of corrupt and violent groups benefiting and promoting the grabbing of rainforest land for these oil palm plantations. The so called sustainable oil palm plantations are coming as way to greenwash the use of this oil and on the base of plantations made in places where before was a rainforest, practically all oil palm plantations are at the end coming from deforestation of rainforest and the losses of biodiversity and displacement of communities. Do NOT BUY products with palm oil if you really care for the planet and it’s biodiversity!

Transparency and no greenwashing is what we need on sustainability claims including NetZero goals and in business in general. This company’s actions (corrupt, misleading and greenwashing) also confirms me the right choice of not consuming meat at all. We need to change our way of life and change food habits it’s one of them. If we all start doing it even if it is in a gradual scale like eating half of what you eat on meat especially beef, your contribution will be accounted by our planet and also by the investors, which should move out of industries that are bad for our only planet and place where we can live.
We have some big news to share! Mighty Earth has published its groundbreaking Whistleblower complaints to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission against $3.2bn of JBS' fraudulent Net Zero-related 'Sustainability-Linked bonds'. A huge thanks to Kevin Galbraith and his team for their expert legal work and unstinting support! Our set of challenges against Brazilian beef giant JBS, initiated in January 2023, have drawn global attention to JBS' non-existent Net Zero by 2040 plans. Our legal submissions are especially relevant as the SEC assesses whether to green light JBS' controversial plan to list on the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) - a deal we’ve described as one of “the biggest climate risk IPOs in history.” Through our initial Whistleblower complaint, we alerted the SEC to how JBS - the world's largest meat company, with climate emissions greater than Spain - misled investors with its unvalidated net zero plans and highlighted that they did not cover its 'Scope 3' supply chain emissions. According to JBS’ own admission, its Scope 3 emissions account for 97% of its total climate footprint. Office of the New York State Attorney General Letitia James seemingly agrees with our analysis to the SEC and recently sued JBS in the New York Supreme Court for making misleading, deceptive and fraudulent Net Zero by 2040 statements in relation to its beef sales. The lawsuit against JBS sheds light on the importance of transparency and accountability in sustainability claims. We must say no greenwashing in the meat industry. JBS, we’re looking at you. Read more from Jordan McDonald, Senior Associate Global Protein Campaign at Mighty Earth to learn why we filed a Whistleblower complaint against JBS with the SEC: https://lnkd.in/eFRmsm9B Photo description: Kevin Galbraith (Attorney for Mighty Earth), Edivan Guajajara (Indigenous activist & filmmaker) and Glenn Hurowitz (CEO of Mighty Earth) handing in Mighty Earth’s Whistleblower complaint to the SEC on January 17, 2023. #climateaction #whistleblower #JBSfraud #climate #netzero #wildlife #environment #standmighty #accountability #meatindustry #sustainability #sustainable future #mightyearth #SEC #emissions #climatechange #protectnature

Some profound reflections on our role in shaping the today and the future: As we contemplate the legacy we leave for future generations, let's not forget to ask ourselves: What kind of individuals are we leaving for the planet, and what kind of individuals are we for the planet? It's crucial to recognise that we, as humans, are intricately connected to nature and the planet. Our existence is intertwined with the well-being of the environment. If nature falters, so do we. #Reflections #Legacy #Environment #Nature #FutureGenerations #sustainability #ClimateCrisis #ClimateChange #Planet #Humanity #ClimateJustice #Extinction #Education #ChoseLife #SavePlanetEarth #Poverty #SocialJustice #Future #Present #Solutions #Thinking #Business #ChangeMindset #ChangeBehaviour

Tomorrow 12 of June is World Day Against Child Labour, and what are you doing to stop it? Did you know we have over 300 millions children in forced child labour? More than the whole population of USA, or the population of Brazil and Mexico put together! Governments have a commitment to finish it by 2025, but with those figures this is not going to happen. 1. Demand from you government to stop it now! Not words but actions. 2. Boycott chocolate companies like Nestlé , Barry Callebaut Group (partner of Tony's Chocolonely), Cadbury UK , Mondelēz International , Mars Food & Nutrition, Cargill , Ferrero Rocher Lindt & Sprüngli Guittard Chocolate Company all of them are not in the Slavery Free Chocolate list here below, https://lnkd.in/gaFWQUr 3. Write to these companies demanding the stop of Child Labour now and making profits with it. 4. Ask your MP and political parties to take actions now, not just words. 5. Stop buying products from companies like the ones mentioned and others that have child labour on their supply chains. Do not be part of this crime! Use your money to stand against it. 6. Donate to organisations fighting slavery, human trafficking and child labour 7. Say it loud and clear, Zero tolerance with child labour. #EndChildLabour #WorldDayAgaisntChildLabour #Slaveryfree #humantrafficking #ZeroChildLabour
Founder and Editor in Chief Lewis Hine Org. Journalist and human rights activist focused on the elimination of child labor in the supply chains of all corporations and all developed nations.
June 12th is the World Day Against Child Labor. All governments committed at the UN in 2015, when they adopted the Sustainable Development Goals, to eliminate child labor and forced labor by 2025. Less than seven months from 2025, both child labor and modern day slavery have increased. Nearly 400 million children work today and the total of modern day slaves has reached nearly 50 million. #ChildLabor #Slavery #SDGs
