What a great Quarter One NOW Group has had. We are so proud of all the participants and staff who have achieved so much over the past three months. I am very happy that Circle K can help members of the community who don’t always have it easy. We entered a partnership with NOW Group earlier this year to offer an inclusive recruitment program to the people they support. NOW Group are an inspiring not-for-profit organisation who provide a range of services that support people with learning difficulties and autism to realise their full potential. Most families, including my own, understand the challenges people with autism and learning difficulties face with things that many of us take for granted. We are very lucky to have Amy, Liam and Daniel join Circle K through our inclusive recruitment program, and we are super proud to celebrate their recent graduation. In Circle K we currently have 12 people in permanent employment and 8 on work experience as part of our inclusive employment program. We partner with several organisations including NOW Group, St John of God - South East Services, Fingal LEADER Partnership, CHIME, and Festina Lente This is not possible without a team of people who are passionate and committed to making Circle K an inclusive workplace and simply doing the right thing. A massive heartfelt thank you to our Store Managers and Area Managers, and our wonderful HR and recruitment team Cora Lyons, Tony Kirwan, Aoife Ryan, Sara Murphy, Christina Birkby, Michelle Hayden (Assoc. Happy Friday! This week we have the Spotlight on our Mid-Ulster Participant Chloe. Chole became involved with NOW Group when she was referred for employment support by her Day Opportunities Co-Ordinator from the NHSCT. Chloe was already consistently volunteering with The Fort Centre Riding for the Disabled where she was and continues to be a valuable member of the Team. She was also volunteering weekly at Kilcreggan Social Farm. Having a love for animals and being outdoors Chloe was keen to secure paid employment locally within this industry after previously working in retail. Working alongside her Employment Officer, Chloe was supported to complile her CV and search for suitable roles. Having identified a perfect Jobstart Opportunity for Chloe as a Stable Hand with RDA Coleraine, she was supported to apply and attend interview. Chloe is now working 25 hours per week as a Stable Hand and has really enjoyed the opportunity to join the wonderful team at RDA Coleraine and fulfil her dream of working everyday with horses. Chloe is now continuing to receive in-work support from her Employment Liaison Officer, who is also working alongside the Team at RDA Coleraine as part of our Sustainment provision.
