In June, Mrs Rebecca Musson, Lead Teacher for RSHE and GARC Fellow 2022-2024, travelled to Baltimore for the IGCS Conference to champion the work of the GDST, share her action research and engage with girls educators from all around the world. She presented her key findings from her research project on collaborative student-led curriculum design for Personal Development at Key Stage 4. Leading Independent School for girls aged 3-18 years. Come and see why we are the best place for your daughter
About us
Welcome to Norwich High School for Girls, an award-winning independent day school for girls aged 3 to 18. We believe passionately in putting girls first. We give each student the very best opportunities to find their strengths, explore the whole breadth of subject options, and tailor all that we do around their needs as they develop into young people. Made by girls is our way of celebrating the bold, curious and confident young people who make our school what it is. We believe that our role as a school is to PROVIDE THE BEST POSSIBLE ENVIRONMENT for your daughters to be themselves – and that their successes are testament to what happens when girls have a PLACE OF THEIR OWN in which to THRIVE. Where they are SUPPORTED by each other, CELEBRATED by each other, PUSHED FORWARD by each other. Where they can SPEAK UP without fear of judgement – PLAY without fear of ridicule – LEARN WITHOUT LIMITS. When you visit us we’re sure you’ll feel the difference it makes to be in a place for girls, of girls, and Made by girls. Book a tour today. Email admissions@nor.gdst.net Why girls only? How girls grow and how they learn is different. Girls and boys are equal – but they’re not the same. Co-educational environments can place a huge pressure on girls, whose confidence and curiosity can suffer as a result. Negative impacts on girls during their education can have much longer repercussions as they navigate Higher Education, careers and the decisions they inevitably face around balancing the demands of modern life. Our school exists to rebalance the odds in your child’s favour. We create an environment where they are free to be themselves and can learn without limits. Where they support each other to be curious and confident, where there are no limits to what they can discover about the world – and themselves. What makes Norwich High School special is the exceptionally strong sense of community which lasts throughout their time here and long after students have left.

Congratulations to Sixth Formers Estelle (Year 12) and Megan (Year 13) who have been named as winners of the 2024 Atherton Award. The Atherton Award recognises girls who show entrepreneurial thinking in a STEM discipline and Estelle and Megan were commended for their plan to create an engineering programme for high school students to encourage more women into engineering. Amber Atherton commented: “I am delighted to recognize Megan and Estelle as this year’s Atherton Award winners for their school lunchtime club to encourage girls to get into engineering and teach them some fundamentals. They envision scaling across the GDST and partnering with engineering firms. With this start-up capital and in our mentoring sessions, I’m excited to see it grow!" Norwich High School for Girls GDST reposted this
Long-term brand building sits at the core of marketing effectiveness.Three years after our Made By Girls campaign, Chris Bosher caught up with Norwich High School for Girls GDST Head of School, Alison Sefton to talk about the process and the results of a campaign that we're very proud of. And judging by the conversation, it seems like they are too: "We’re still living and working off that in terms of my new favourite marketing phrase, ‘repurposing’ – such as bringing it in on our own adverts." You can read the whole interview here: https://lnkd.in/gcrfTrxN

We are delighted to have been highly commended in two of the categories in this year’s Muddy Stilettos School Awards! It seems fitting that during #NationalSportsWeek we gained a Highly Commended accreditation for being ‘Passionate About Sport’. It is also fitting that we received our second Highly Commended accreditation for ‘Most Inclusive School’ as we celebrated Pride Day in school on Friday with a picnic lunch on the Big Pitch. #NorwichHighSchoolforGirls #MadebyGirls #GDST
