About us

One way to think about our lives is as a form of journey. On the way we develop, grow. We are often surprised, sometimes positively - but it can also happen that we feel a little bit trapped in certain patterns of situations, which we don't like, or the situations which aren't good for us. To my mind, at its core, NLP is just a toolbox that can help you find ways out of those difficult situations, charter a safer course for the future, explore more options, and notice new opportunities. In my opinion it's not a panacea that will solve problems, or cure every pain. It's an additional resource you can have to create a better life for yourself and your close ones, but it comes with work and limitations as well. This page will try and help you understand a little bit more about how it can help you. NLP explores the relationships between how we think (neuro), how we communicate (linguistic), and our patterns of behaviour (programming). It's very pragmatic approach, focused on the result, what works for you, it draws from different areas of knowledge and requires an open mind to explore its benefits. If you master it, you can use its elements to change, adopt, or eliminate behaviours - and it should be used to understand and better your own behaviours, not the ones of other people.

Data is important. It's necessary for the business to improve, and if you follow 12 rules for life by Jordan Peterson, Atomic Habits, or any other method of improvement based on incremental progress, you will want a way to track it, i.e. sustainably generate and review data, for your personal life too. So why do employees sometimes treat it as a burden and unnecessary administrative tasks? Sometimes you might even catch yourself struggling with following the data-driven approach yourself. Perhaps because there sometimes is disconnect between what we require employees or ourselves to do, and the reason "why" we want or need to put our attention, time and effort into it. Perhaps rather than the approach of punishment, intimidation, shaming, or trying to incentivise the data input externally, some more internal work can be more helpful - i.e. why do we want this action to be monitored, performed, and how does it serve the person doing it. Are we expecting them to do it because they benefit from it, or because the organisation benefits from it? Is the line clear, transparently explained, or blurred, and confusing? Is the connection between how the organisation and the individual built to be strong and positive? What do you think?

We are often surprised, and sometimes it can happen that we feel a little bit trapped in certain patterns of situations, which we don't like, or the situations which aren't good for us. To my mind, at its core, NLP is just a toolbox that can help you find ways out of those difficult situations, charter a safer course for the future, explore more options, and notice new opportunities. To my mind it's not a panacea that will solve problems, or cure every pain. It's an additional resource you can have to create a better life for yourself and your close ones, but it comes with work and limitations as well. I will try and help you understand a little bit more about how it can help you. To start somewhere, here are some basic Assumptions of NLP. They are not true, or untrue - they are just that - assumptions that I find useful in NLP, and they can helpful for you to achieve your goals: The Map is Not the Territory: Our perceptions of the world are not the world itself. Instead, they are our interpretations of it—our "maps." It can give you perspective and defend you against dogmatic approach, which is too fixated on what you know, and closed off from the world of "unknown", and so opportunity. Life and Mind are Systemic Processes: The processes that take place within us and between us, and our environment are systemic. Our bodies, societies, and universe form complex systems and sub-systems all of which interact with and mutually influence each other. You can take responsibility for being an agent of change in the system changing yourself, first and foremost. If One Person Can Do Something, Anyone Can Learn It: NLP modelling is the process of learning - and it requires faith that you can learn in the first place. NLP can focus on analysing, breaking down, and adopting the specific thought patterns and behaviours of people who excel in a specific skill or performance - being admirable personal character with values we would like to adopt, social success, or work results. What other assumptions do you find helpful in your practice of NLP? Perhaps they are outside of scope of NLP, but you have adopted them from another domain of knowledge?
