Last week saw the latest of Neptune’s Company Meetings, where people from across the business joined together in person and virtually to hear updates on activity from our teams and to be briefed on current performance and plans for the future. To ensure accessibility for staff who were unable to watch the meeting live we also provided a recording with subtitles. Communication is something that our teams consistently tell us is important to them, and something we’re always working on improving. The Company Meeting is just one tool in our kit, but it’s an important one as it gives our people the chance to hear first-hand from the Senior Leadership Team how the business is doing, and what their personal contribution is helping Neptune to achieve. #teamneptune #communication #achievingtogether

One week ago we opened the doors to Neptune Neauphle-Le-Chateau, our second Neptune store in France alongside seven partner stores. This striking building was once used for the production of Grand Marnier liqueur and, true to Neptune’s store-design ethos, time has been taken to renovate it in a way that highlights its unusual architectural features and provides a beautiful back-drop to the Neptune colours and collections. In a Neptune kitchen each piece of cabinetry is built as a solid, stand-alone piece of furniture and can be adjusted to fit around the quirks and curves of an individual room. Ensuring that every kitchen fits perfectly into every home requires high levels of knowledge and technical skill, and a focus on proper installation results in a finished kitchen that not only looks beautiful but will also stand the test of time.   This week we spoke to Installations Lead, Richard Wilkins, to learn about the work that Neptune’s dedicated Installation Project Managers and Installers do to ensure that every kitchen design is successfully brought to life. “A new kitchen is the fulfilment of a dream, but these kinds of projects have the potential to be stressful for the customer.” explains Richard. “To avoid this, our Installation Project Managers provide professional and knowledgeable support for our customers and all the associated tradespeople working on the project. From an initial review of the designs, all the way through to the signature paint finish and project sign-off, we are here to answer any questions and ensure Neptune can provide a smooth, well communicated, and well-coordinated design journey to the customer. I love that we get to work so closely with our highly skilled Design teams on these projects, they have the vision which we are then able to bring to life in our customer’s homes. Alongside them we coordinate with builders, electricians, plumbers, plasterers, floor layers, decorators, joiners, carpenters, window installers and many other teams, to ensure the project comes together as it should.   Once the time comes to install the kitchen, we have carefully selected teams of highly qualified joiners and furniture painters working across the country to complete our installations. These skilled teams work with genuine care and want all our customers to have an amazing experience throughout the process.   Our aim at Neptune is to allow our customers to relax and let us deliver their dream kitchen and we love to hear about people’s experiences throughout their design journey, from the moment they walk into a store to when their project is complete, and they receive their lifetime guarantee. As part of our ongoing partnership with woodland charity Stump Up For Trees, last week members of our Marketing team took advantage of one of their staff volunteering days and travelled to one of the charity's woodland nurseries in Abergavenny to spend the day working with the SUFT team. They were kept busy clearing weeds from areas where willow is going to be grown, weeding out around saplings, and creating a drainage system to reduce the risk of waterlogging during wet weather.   Stump Up For Trees is dedicated to facilitating ecological restoration by increasing tree cover across agricultural and rural land. This year we've committed to planting a tree with the charity for every tree used in the manufacturing of our furniture, we also offer our customers the option to donate for additional trees to be planted. It's been a busy week for the Commercial team here at Neptune. The team have all pulled together to complete their latest project, a 4-plot exclusive development in Berkshire for a Property Developer who has been working with Neptune for a while now. Each home in the project features Neptune kitchens, pantries, utility rooms and boot rooms.    We spoke to Becky Smith, our Commercial Projects Lead, for whom this is the latest of many projects over the years, to see what she enjoys most about her role.   “The Commercial team at Neptune has been ever evolving and with the introduction of our Trade programme, we have been able to officially focus on our Contract offering centrally at HQ” explains Becky. “My role is hugely varied, I’m involved in the whole journey, right from the initial concept and design, through to installation and completion. I work alongside a brilliant team of Designers, Coordinators, Installers, and Project Managers to deliver turn-key solutions for developers on multi-plot projects, as well as those that are maybe a little more unique. What I love about my role is just that, being able to work alongside some talented individuals, but also deliver the whole home concept. Having worked across the interiors and kitchen industry for many years, being able to combine the two at a unique brand such as Neptune is something really special.”   We also caught up with our client, Oliver Dunford of E.G. Day 2 at Chelsea Flower Show and we’re delighted to announce that this morning Neptune was presented with a 5 Star Tradestand Award by the Royal Horticultural Society. We’re especially proud of this as all the design work and on-site project coordination to create the stand was done by our own people. This week at Neptune we’ve been keeping active as part of Mental Health Awareness Week. The theme for this year is ‘Movement: moving more for our mental health’ and so our team of Mental Health First Aiders, our Mental Health Champions and our Senior Leadership Team worked out a diary of activities, blog posts, articles and talks to help us all to understand the mental and physical benefits of exercise and give us the opportunity to start moving more.   Across the week teams from around the business have taken time out of their working days to join Pilates classes, take part in step-count challenges and attempt dance routines, they’ve worn green for ‘Wear it Green’ day, gone for walks, listened to talks on the importance of exercise for your mental wellbeing, learned new ways to move their bodies, played games and read articles and posts from their colleagues on what they do to keep active and to calm their minds.   It’s been wonderful to see so many of our people embrace the spirit of Mental Health Awareness Week, throwing themselves into all the activities on offer and sharing stories of their own mental health journeys with each other, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to the teams who were responsible for making it all happen. #mentalhealthawarenessweek #mentalhealthmatters #movemore #healthybodyhealthymind #mentalhealth #wearitgreenday #stampoutthestigma #teamneptune
