This month, we have loved working with Heaven Hill Brands and Proof Drinks on the UK launch of Elijah Craig Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey, an extra-aged Rye offering from the award-winning Elijah Craig family of Bourbons. Heaven Hill Master Distiller Conor O'Driscoll says “Elijah Craig Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey’s unique blend of spicy rye grains and sweet corn gives it the perfect balance, flavour and smoothness. Heaven Hill Distillery has helped set the stage for rye’s resurgence through carefully curating the balance of grains which consumers have come to desire." To mark the launch, last Monday we invited media to an immersive Elijah Craig Bourbon tasting event at Soho Whisky Club hosted by Ben Purslow, Heaven Hill Brands European Brand Educator and Brand Ambassador, Chris Smith. The lineup not only included Elijah Craig Straight Rye, but also the latest release of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof and a rare Elijah Craig 18-Year Old Single Barrel. We know what we'll be drinking on World Rum Day, Saturday, 13 July! Thank you Adam O'Connell and Master of Malt for shining a light on our client - the very popular Master of Malt product, Mermaid Spiced Rum! 🍹 "Given the story was about Caribbean rum, it would be odd if Mermaid Spiced Rum was made from anything else. But it is a base of Caribbean rums. Specifically, it’s a blend of rums from Trinidad and the Dominican Republic (no distilleries named) aged between 2-5 years in American oak bourbon whiskey barrels. The blend is then infused at the Isle of Wight Distillery with its signature botanical rock samphire, fresh white cherries, apricots, honey from its beehives and black salt from the Island’s coastal flood tides. That’s quite a lovely and original array of flavourings. But it’s not done yet. The rum is also spiced with local holy grass, cassia and vanilla. Just like Mama used to make.  The bottle, in typical Mermaid fashion, is pretty beautiful. Its black and clear design mirrors the design of the gin and vodka bottles (which are based on a mermaid’s tail) and allows the golden rum to shimmer through. It also ticks lots of sustainability boxes, another big premiumization must-have, as it’s plastic-free, crafted from recyclable glass and features a responsibly sourced natural cork stopper. The tamper-proof seal was even made from corn and potato starch, which composts in food waste recycling within 6-12 weeks. The label on the neck of the bottle is crafted from recyclable, biodegradable paper whilst the bottle is also re-usable and recyclable. Created by executive producer Darren Star (Younger, Sex and the City, Beverly Hills 90210), EMILY IN PARIS revolves around Emily, an ambitious twenty-something marketing executive from Chicago, who unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris. During Season three of EMILY IN PARIS, Emily tasted and loved the French cocktail Kir Royale and pitched it as an RTD to her agency clients. Consumers picked up on the idea of a ready-to-drink version of the French cocktail and the Kir Royale became one of the most searched for cocktails online, with consumers suggesting this could be the new Spritz; becoming an overnight viral sensation. This week, Cotswolds Distillery launched a new digital gin campaign around its award winning Cotswolds Dry Gin, ‘Today will be Cloudy and Dry’. The campaign highlights the cloudy and dry features of the gin which has a high volume of essential oils from the botanicals. Cotswolds Dry Gin is non-chill filtered and when mixed with ice and tonic a pearlescent cloud appears, creating the beautiful and unique Cotswolds Cloudy G&T. This campaign, produced and directed by View Creative Agency, communicates this unique benefit, whilst tapping into the English obsession with the unpredictable British weather. Cotswolds Distillery Founder, Dan Szor comments, “We are really excited to bring our Cotswolds Dry Gin to life through this engaging and quirky campaign, ‘Today will be Cloudy and Dry’.
